Cannot get bookmarks to show on left side. They were there when I set up this new computer, then disappeared. Says go to toolbar at bottom of screen, there is no toolbar at the bottom of the screen. There is a file containing all the bookmarks that were transferred. Been at this for hours.

It seems that Firefox download speed is only up to 50% compared to other browsers.

Is there a setting that we can tweak to improve the download speeds?

Microsoft Edge does not have the issues that I have described in the subject line. Edge auto fills my username and password. When switching from Firefox to Edge the two white lines on each side of the screen disappear and the screen is full size. This is very annoying and a waste of time. Firefox also lists my Operating system as Windows 7. I have Windows 10 not Windows 7!

My question concerns this Download Library that I found in version 98.

I do not like it now want it.

In doing a search to remedy this I came upon Download history window in support. It said to go to about:config page and change from True to False on browser.download.alwaysOpenPanel = false. I did this and this Download Library is still there.

How do I stop having a History of my Downloads?

I get the developers think the new features might be needed and good, and some are very beneficial. But, sometimes just leave things alone. At least have some setting in Privacy & Security to give those the option to turn it off. Was that not option? You all are coders, just add a few more lines of code. Easy for me to say.

I am not good with computer knowledge. I got a gift of new laptop with Windows 11. How can I transfer all the bookmarks etc to new laptop? I am not able to see the steps mentioned by searching on Google

Since upgrading to an M1 2021 iMac running Monterey 12.3, clicking on links in Mac Mail opens 2 Firefox windows if Firefox is not open, even though "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" is selected in Firefox.

My volume icon used to be beside the Save to Pocket and Open Application Menu icons in the top right of the browser window. It has disappeared and I cannot find the setting or control to add it back. Please advise.

Add an option to load presets for Firefox settings. I have poor eye site. In order to read the text I am writing I have the zoom set to 170. Add to that the size and color of the icons it is difficult to tell what the icons represent. by a preset I mean when first installed give options to set toolbar height and width, select the color used or simply select black and white. Colors are pretty and icons look cool but are useless until you know what they represent.

 This support page is black and white. Other than the fact that many of your users will need to set a high zoom it looks pretty good.

Recently (in the last few days) Firefox has begun preventing me from using my AOL account citing privacy:

"Secure Connection Failed

"An error occurred during a connection to www.aol.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

   "The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   "Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

Why did this start happening and what can I do about it? Curiously I can still access my AOL e-mail account on my Kindle.

I have logged on and opened only five tabs. I now have 13 Firefox instances. Firefox has gotten unusable. I've tried everything that Mozilla and others recommend. Don't bother to tell me to uncheck "Use recommended performance settings." Who hasn't don't that already. I also don't need to read that this is normal. I HATE Chrome but will have to switch to it if I cannot improve my very slow functionality. People need real solutions, not the same answer pasted into every complaint about this. Perhaps the answer is that you have no solution.

I even tried to set the autostart option to "false" as some suggest to disable multi-processes. I think that's made it worse.

I have fought this for several years but now, the situation is very much worse. I've been exiting Firefox and getting back in to stop so many processes (sure, sure, instances) but now I see 13 instances with only 5 tabs opened. Within 10 minutes, I have 13 processes running. Call them instances if you like, but they are 13 separate .exe files that are slowing me almost to a stop.
