I'm making the switch from Chrome and trying to set Firefox up with a few settings that that browser has that I'm more partial to. The title might not have been clear - I want to make it so that when I open a photo or video in Firefox, the tab instantly switches to that new media. But, I want to keep it so that links that I open in Firefox in new tabs do not instantly get switched to. I see there's a option in the settings, "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" - basically, I want the "switch to it immediately" functionality for images and media that I drag from my desktop into Firefox, but not for links that I open while using the browser, similar to how Chrome handles it. Is there any way that I can replicate this behavior in Firefox? Thank you.

I just upgraded to latest Firefox and all my bookmarks from the previous version are now all missing. Anything that can be done to get them from my previous version

I was not sure what topic/heading to put my question under, but problem occurred like this:

A student organization within my University sent me and email concerning a petition. This is all very legit. But when clicking on the link to see and sign the petition, I got this:

"Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information)".

I wonder if this is an EXACT problem you know very well that has to do precise individual account settings, OR could also be linked my status with the University? (I'm a twice Alumni, but am now "lapsed" from my third degree -didn't take a course in "X" no. of semesters- so blocked from registration... And what else)? Maybe this site "is instructed" not open in browser if I'm not a current paying customer of the University?

I don't get it. Links acquired from safe sites, here doubly safe since coming from a legit University address AND safe to come in my email inbox go though like 99% of the time... First I see of this automatic message. I might have change a Mozilla setting SINCE that makes it worse, but I don't understand the original error. I tried to cut and paste in the address bar but didn't help be get answers (didn't see page this way either). Why is it a "my side" problem, why do they say it's an"exception" error, and what is the browser's "console? One's Mozilla acount's home?THANKS FOR CLEARING THIS UP GUYS : )

Whenever I attempt to authenticate with Google using a passkey, Firefox (142.0.1) on macOS (15.6.1) hangs and freezes the process. In Activity Monitor, when I force kill a webauthn process for Firefox, the browser frees up, and I can proceed as long as I don't use a passkey.

This freezing is also described in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/ee/questions/1498660, but they didn't look into running processes. I can also authenticate to Google using Safari, but that's not a solution.

I've deleted my passkeys in Google, and now everything works, but that's not a permanent solution. Is it Firefox, Mac, Google, or all three?

I can't find anywhere here the procedure to disable the nuisance "AI". Can someone send me an email and let me know? Send it to [edited from public]. Thank you. Proton Man

Firefox worked just fine yesterday, but today it's not loading certain pages. For example, I can get into my gmail, but if I click on a specific email I just get a "loading..." message, but nothing happens. I can get onto my employer's website, but can't open the link to fill out my time sheet, similarly getting an endless "loading..." message. I've checked for updates, cleared cache/cookies, restarted my computer, and nothing helps. Not having the same issue w/ Microsoft Edge, but I'd hate to have to switch over if there's some fix here I'm overlooking, or a broader Mozilla issue that some smart folks are already troubleshooting. Thanks!

Please explain what happened. Firefox filled in a correct password when I went to establish an account with Greenpeace.org have no password listed in my Firefox passwords for Greenpeace.org.

I just installed Firefox on my laptop, it is rendering web pages with missing letters and photos that cannot be seen, but if I try to copy them to show you they come out correct. How do I fix this, it makes webpages almost unreadable? Thanks Gordon Sears

Hello, I am facing an issue while playing YouTube videos in Mozilla Firefox. The videos are very choppy and do not play smoothly, even though my internet connection is stable.

Here are my details:

I am on a MacBook Air using 142.0.1 (aarch64) and some websites like Amazon.com and Google News are displaying a mobile view, even though I am on desktop. A shift reload causes the desktop view to be displayed, but subsequent clicks lead to reverting to the mobile view.

I can't open Threads.com or Threads.net if the Facebook container extension is turned on. If I shut it off, Threads loads fine. If I'm already on Threads and turn on the extension is goes back to the Threads page with just the symbol and I can't use it. Can't sign in through Instagram or through history, either. Is there a work around for this?

Recently I lost my earlier mobile phone and purchased a new one. I tried many times but every time the pairing/sync to my new device is failing. I am tired of this. Can you help?

Every time I am using Firefox to login to an app that requires a passkey (which is many now), it says I will be asked to provide my passkey and no window pops up.

The browser freezes and I have force quit it.

Judging from other comments and questions, this appears to be a bug. Please fix it as it renders Firefox unusable.

I've migrated to a new Mac and installed Firefox. The optional search features are missing, which I use A LOT, specifically the option to search in currently open tabs (screenshot attached). Where do I find that feature?
