Just recently Firefox has gotten really slow to open. Sometimes it won't open at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it which helped for about 2 tries. I thought it might be a problem with my phone but chrome loads instantly. Once it does open it's slow to go wherever I try to go and sometimes just quits and takes me back to the home screen.

My Thunderbird app takes some minutes to start up. Updates are OK, troubleshooting does not show any failures. Emailing functions well, no problems. There is a new problem: dragging files to my Explorer has stopped to function.

I have a good HPPro "Desc 400 G5 MT"" PC running on Windows 11 (no problems).

Kindly advice actions to take. Do I loose my Address Book in case I uninstall my Thunderbird and Install a new copy of the Programme. Yours - Jarl Jaatinen, Finland

suddenly it's taking minutes to send an email - if it sends at all. Many times I get a 'failed' pop up window but when I click SEND again it will sometimes go through. Also Some of my emails aren't coming up - only a few of them. And they aren't un-bolding.

When I write and send a message. A window comes up saying copying message to sent folder and then it won't close. i.e. it just stays there. When I open up thunderbird again it says the message has been sent but I still can't close the window that says copying message to sent folder.

Thunderbird had been working great for both of us until after my wife stopped checking her emails for a couple of months. When she later opened the program her inbox started downloading hundreds of emails (very slowly) until her inbox contained well over a thousand. I started to delete the unwanted ones but it went very very slowly. I finally whittled it down to a few hundred but the program continues to run very slowly in all phases. In one instance, it took 11 minutes to delete 39 messages. Downloading and sending are not much different. I've done virus scans, checked settings, restarted the computer etc., all to no avail. And when we switch users, my Thunderbird email runs perfectly. I also contacted my internet provider (Spectrum) but they said it had to be a program issue. So I have noticed it for a couple of years now, and still this issue isn't solved. I am attaching the screenshot. When my phone is in an idle state, the Firefox app is in the background and my screen is switched off. Then the Android device should go into doze mode and save battery, but that doesn't happen due to Firefox. There is an audio wake lock, and it doesn't let the phone go into doze mode. If I always try to close the tabs when I am leaving Firefox, then yeah, it gets solved, but that defeats the purpose of having a powerful smartphone.

Thunderbird is downloaded new messages, but I can only see the Welcome to Freedom screen and cannot click into and see any emails in any folder. I see that numerous emails were downloaded, some going to the inbox, other into the spam folder. However, when I try to view them, all I see is the Thunderbird "Welcome to Freedom" main screen and cannot view any emails in any folders. Clicking onto different emails and their folders all show that same main screen.

Goodmorning! Since a couple of days, my TH takes ages to download new messages and when I send a message, it takes at least 20 minutes to show in my Sent folder. I downloaded a new TH but the problem remains the same. I have not changed a thing... What can this be? Its enough to make me change the application... I'm on a Macbook M4.

We are a team of around 15 users who have been using Mozilla Thunderbird with Google IMAP for the last few years. Until recently, Thunderbird has been working reliably without any major issues.

However, for approximately the last one week, we have been facing a serious performance issue with incoming emails. Around 12 out of 15 users are experiencing the same problem.

The main issues we are facing are:

Newly received emails take a very long time to download. After clicking on a newly received email, it takes a considerable amount of time to open and display the content. Emails appear to be downloading extremely slowly, even though our internet connection is a 100 Mbps ILL (Internet Leased Line). The issue is affecting multiple users simultaneously, so it does not appear to be limited to a particular user's Thunderbird profile or PC. We have already tried Repair Folder / Repair Inbox, but the issue persists. We are using Google's IMAP servers for our email accounts.

We are currently using Mozilla Thunderbird 153.0.3 (64-bit) – Meadow Badge.

Could this be a known issue or bug in the latest Thunderbird 153.0.3 update, particularly with Google IMAP?

We would appreciate any guidance from the Thunderbird community/support team on how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. If there are any recommended settings, logs, diagnostics, or Thunderbird configuration changes that we should check, please let us know.

Since this issue is affecting 12 out of 15 users, it is becoming a significant operational problem for our team.

Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hello Folks, We are a team of 15ppl using thunderbird from last few year and it work flolessly in these years but from last 1week i have been facing a serious issue of : INCOMING EMAILS TAKING A LOT OF TIME TO OPEN AND READ, fresh email when received and after clicking it takes a lot of time of open, having a 100mpbs ILL speed, out of 15 / 12 ppl are facing same issue, even after repairing the inbox the issue remains same, mails are getting downloaded very slowly...we are using google imap server for the same, need help to resolve the same...is it the bug in the latest update 153.0.3 (64-bit) Meadow badge

Why is Thunderbird email for PC and Android suddenly loading and syncing so slow this week...very frustrating. I have a gmail email...gmail site is fine. I've compacted all folder, etc and IMAP server server setting for years.

When I open FF 137 on my iMac running OS 12.7.6, it just keep trying and trying with no link. When I try and quit it needs to be forced quick to stop running. There are no fire walls and it worked yesterday 4-5-25 just fine, but no go today. I tried replacing FF and still no luck, what do I try now, [email removed]@yahoo.com

Immediately after restart and subsequently starting Firefox 153.0.3 my Windows 11, 16GB system shows that Firefox has started 11 processes, five of which account for most of the 1.2GB of RAM used. Why does Firefox run so many processes, and how can I make it use less RAM?

We receive very large text emails from logwatch on one of our servers. Thunderbird becomes unresponsive for several minutes. When it "comes back" other messages can be selected but no content is displayed, and everything is slow to respond. Clicking the X to close the app takes upwards of 30 seconds to actually close the app.

Is there some setting to increase heap / RAM? Or is this a different issue?

While checking mail in my inbox, I opened, then deleted a message (message 1). As has been happening lately, there was a significant pause between my hitting delete and the mesage going away. Then I opened another message (message 2), and I found that it had the header for message 2 displayed in the inbox, but showed the text of message 1 when opened. Scrambled messages and headers could be a big problem.

I logged onto the mail server (gmail) directly. It showed me message 2 with the correct header, and message 1 was in trash.

To fix the problem, I deleted message 2 on the server, and waited for it to vanish from the headers in my Thunderbird inbox. Then, I copied it back from trash on the server. After it downloaded to Thunderbird, everything was fine, but I wanted to alert you to the issue. Something evidently can go awry on TB's end to scramble headers and messages, and that is scary.

Running TB 147.0.1 with gmail(imap) as the mail server. I have posted twice in the past week about issues with gmail, and I am suspecting something going on at that end. My TB installation is brand new since then; the problems with logging on and staying connected that I reported only went away when I removed .esr, rebooted, and did a clean install of TB.

Please advise if this is a known problem, and if there are settings I can tweak to prevent recurrence.
