I cannot seem to get sync to sync my passwords/logins to my IOS phone. I have relogged in 5 times and resynced even more times! I even logged out of all devices and logged back in. Issue has been reoccuring for past 4 months.

Hello all. I have a strange problem, sorry for the length. So I have a windows pc, and 2 android devices, a cell and a tablet. Sync has not really worked well for over 3 years, and I'm trying yet one more time to fix this. I honestly don't believe it can. Each device is pretty much on its own, so I do not see all of my articles/tabs on all 3. If you were to take a look at each, the tabs are all different. I've tried everything. So let me ask this: is there a way to manually do this? I guess I'll just have to do that. I've signed in and out on both android devices, hit the sync button on all 3, looked for updates on all 3, etc. My cell didn't even show up on my pc for 3 years. I don't want to mess with that one yet {cause it's windows}, I've gone into settings, tried what the articles suggest. Nothing. Weirdly, my bookmarks are fine {thank goodness}. Please help. So I have a new s23 and just sync'd it. I can send tabs from the android 14 phone (Firefox 124.0) to the Win10 laptop (Firefox 123.0.1) but I cannot send them from the laptop to the phone. I hesitate to change the laptop to v124 because of the error, as the laptop works with the other devices I have.

I've open/closed Firefox (both places), signed in and out (both places), restarted the phone and the behavior is the same.

Suggestions?

I use Firefox on at least three different devices, and my Firefox account is linked on all these devises. And I have a huge amount of bookmarks, and almost daily create new bookmarks, as well as store links into existing bookmarks on my Linux Laptop. The problem is that when I then later use my Android smart phone or my Android Samsung Tablet, the bookmarks are not reflected in the same user friendly fashion as it was created or seen on my Linux Laptop. So much so that it is extremely user unfriendly and nearly impossible to store a link into an existing bookmark or to create a new sub-bookmark into an existing bookmark - also because the bookmarks can not be collapsed or navigated as easily as on my main device, which is the Linux Laptop. I need Firefox to reflect my bookmarks in exactly the same fashion and same order as I create them, and I need the bookmarks be be collapsable and navigable. I really want to use Firefox, but this disability forces me to now use Chrome, and I do not want that. Please fix the bookmarks in Firefox. This night be a question for Samsung.

I am testing some Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phones. I used Smart Switch to migrate from my S10 to a Flip 3. Firefox was entirely mirror copied. Even the phone name on Firefox was copied and it was logged into my Firefox account on the Flip 3. All open tabs were on the Flip 3, even inactive tabs. A mirror copy.

I did this again from the Flip 3 to a Flip 4. Same result. Then repeated that to another Flip 4, (being the same model I thought this would be no problem) but all I have is a fresh install of Firefox. Account login, tabs, nothing was copied. I've repeated this process using Smart Switch about 6 times now trying a few things like ensuring Firefox is removed on the destination, updating the destination OS etc.

Is there a better option? Is there something in a newer version of Firefox that prevents Smart Switch from copying the current cached files and this state?

I have passwords and bookmarks saved on my desktop and laptop PCs. How do I import those to my Android and Apple devices with Firefox? I don't want to have anything in the "cloud", because of the possibilities of hacking. Thank you.

I cannot share a tab from my phone to my tablet or vice versa. I can send tabs to my desktop computers, and my desktop computers can send tabs to my phone, but for some reason Firefox Sync thinks that my phone and my tablet are the same device.

Curiously, when I go into my Firefox account settings and change the name of my browser on each device, as soon as I sync, the names are swapped. Specifically, I named Firefox on my phone "S23 Ultra". When I checked the settings on my tablet, it showed that that was also the name of Firefox there, too. So I changed the name of it on my tablet to "Tab S8+". As soon as I hit "Sync Now," my phone changed to "Tab S8+". And when I changed my phone back to "S23 Ultra," as soon as I synced my tablet, that became the name of my tablet browser, too.

I've spent a long time tidying up the passwords on my main PC. Every so often I did a manual sync too. I also imported into Edge occasionally and I noticed a few sites' details there that I had deleted from FF. Strange! Anyway, I finished the tidy up and went to my Android phone (set up to sync) and did the sync there and it looked OK. I then had the idea to look here for the 'extra' one I had seen in Edge and sure enough it was there! I also noticed lots of others I had deleted from the 'Master'. Changes to passwords had been replicated successfully though. What is the logic for syncing in these instances? I then signed out of FF on the phone to stop the sync and deleted one that was common to both and then signed back in and synced - it did delete it from the PC when I synced that. This makes me nervous to delete them all from the phone when signed out and syncing upon re-connect. So, what is the safe way to make the password details from the PC be an exact copy on the phone - no extras?! My thoughts were to disconnect the phone (but hoped it would remove things), delete the details manually if required, sign back in and re-sync. But I don't want to risk the sync actually wiping out the contents of the PC! Thanks!

I recently got a new phone and have logged into Firefox Sync. I can see all of the tabs from my old phone, but how can I open all of the tabs at once in the new phone without having to click one tab at a time? I've tried going on desktop and opening the sync account and using crtl+h to see all the tabs, but I only open the tabs that were on my phone on the desktop browser, not send the tabs to my new phone.

I think b/c I have an old Firefox acct on my old, locked iPhone 11,that when this iPad synced, with info on iPhone 11 from back when I had computer (Lightning Rod) so this is causing major lockouts because passwords, sign In info, etc don’t match? The 11 never really got used b/c Verizon couldn’t keep signal to phone and automated system kept shutting me down while the higher ups kept trying but eventually I had to give up and return to Spectrum but Verizon Automation also reported me th credit bureau- which we sent a rebuttal to the huge charge but only learned after time to dispute had long passed that b/c we didn’t think to send return receipt- Who kne? Well not only didn’t I get my $600 advanced payment returned and I kept begging those techs to simply give up, send a return box b/c when I agreed to the contract, on recording, I specifically stated that if what he ( salesman agreed to, that is, that I wouldn’t need to pay separately for Spectrums signal then yes, I agree to the contract… Spectrum, unfortunately, prior to CoVid, lied about upstate NY having 100% coverage and thus other companies suffered losses b/c they depended on wireless signal just as CoVid really took off(sorry for rant!) So, the 11 really didn’t get used b/c Verizon management understood the serious threat to me being terminal but the automated system couldn’t be overridden, and thus my question to you is…How can I separate, or stop the syncing with the outdated info that I suspect is confusing and driving me insane when the Firefox for iOS is getting separate info? But, suspecting I’m an intruder? Lastly, the old 11 has Now added newer (recent info) and I simply don’t know the info when being asked, nor do I know if both the one Android temporary (pay as you go phone…will cooperate with separate platforms as well as apps but it was never this confusing when I used Firefox before yet being much more deteriorated medically, I simply am desperately trying to protect my privacy until Apple can find a way to help get my watch back monitoring me while I temporarily have the Android so if something obvious happens - which btw, when the watch literally saved my life, nobody knew before that occurred that my body was no longer able to make a life sustaining trace mineral and the other requirements to absorb in order to live but b/c the watch was monitoring and SOS, at the hospital, my cardiologist was able to have tests that they instantly started IV’s saving me and Now although the watch isn’t working- I simply can only pray that b/c Apple is doing what they can, at least if I get some kind of pain or unable to breathe as was the case that day… but then I have lots of allergies so that’s what I and others thought was issue… but with the American ingenuity of what Apple has started, the ability to prevent deaths that could have been prevented, yet I’m hitting a huge brick wall with Spectrum arguing and putting my life at risk denying that Apple could have got my watch going but told me to call Spectrum because even with my phone dying from a fall, I’m paying out the ying Yang not only for cellular to not only go to my broken iPhone but am also paying for cellular to my watch which luckily I did get with its own cellular. But enough of the horror story…is there any advice you can provide while Apple has taken lead, to protect me from the Android but more importantly help me with the old info, of the 11 vS new of 14 which Apple has jumped further in to prevent the unthinkable from possibly occurring. I’d be lying if I tried to say I’m not frustrated with Spectrum, but I’m not interested in dying to enrich my heir…I still have things…a long long bucket list, but I’m just trying to keep myself and what is still working safe. You guys are wizards with this stuff… Please let me know if you can help separate out but possibly not make me more vulnerable. Thanks for what you do in trying to help people like me who don’t know much about what it entails nowadays to utilize the access, yet not be further victimized or experiencing more stored info.

I have two computers which names starts with "UNIT" and followed by some numbers that differs. If I want to send tab from mobile to one of them I cannot determine which is which because device name is cut after 4 characters. See attached screenshot. Thanks

Neither using the QR code option or the email option work. Both result in a white screen.

By using the iPhone's camera to scan the QR code (instead of using Firefox) I can see that the QR code is point to https://mzl.la/MYCODE. This URL in turn is redirecting to https://app.adjust.com/somecode?campaign=firefox-desktop&adgroup=firefoxview&creative=CODE-123. Opening this URL in Safari gives me a white page with a "Download App" button to download Firefox (which I already have installed).

My Firefox account has the setting "Allow ⁨Firefox Accounts⁩ to send technical and interaction data to ⁨Mozilla⁩." set to off. So probably none of this tracking should occur.

In any case, I went to Firefox settings and turned on "Allow Cross-Website Tracking". I also went to Safari settings and turned off "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking", "Privacy Preserving Ad Measurement" and turned "Content Blockers".

Then I tried syncing again. The result was the same white page as before.

I've tried uninstalling Firefox on iOS and Firefox on Mac and reinstalling them in a different order. But regardless of what I do, the logins that are on my Mac do not sync to my phone. I have about 850 logins on my Mac, and even after I do a manual sync, it still says "No logins found" on my phone. Items like bookmarks and open tabs sync fine.

Tried syncing Firefox Windows 11 (version 21H2) with Firefox mobile browser (Firefox 105.0) and get the following message: 500 Error Oh dear, something went wrong there. We've been notified and will get working on a fix. I have a iPhone 12 Pro. iOS Version: 16.0.2
