I'm posting because I noticed that there is a repeat issue with my Firefox login. When I try to log in on a new browser, my password is always rejected and my account even receives the "lock" for using an incorrect password. The first time this happened, I tried every password option I have and then ultimately changed my password and last some browsing data thinking I was wrong. This time I decided to set up a recovery key after my password was rejected on another browser and was able to successfully use the same password rejected by my new browser to set up that recovery key on my existing browser. This means that my password and email are correct, but for some reason they aren't recognized outside of one browser. If I can't sync my browsers I will have to completely use Edge which isn't ideal.

Is this something I can fix in my settings? Or is this a glitch/bug with my account that I can report somewhere? I'd like to access my data.

I was attempting to sync bookmarks from Firefox on my Android phone to my laptop. They weren't appearing on my laptop so I deleted the bookmarks on the laptop version and updated the browser. I signed in again and both the Android and desktop versions synced. Now, all of my bookmarks have disappeared on my Android phone. I tried to restore using import and backup/restore but that didn't do anything. Is there any way of getting them back?

I also have a tablet which has my bookmarks, albeit older versions as it hasn't connected to the internet for several months. How can I safely get these across to my phone and desktop without the risk of losing them again?

Firefox on android has to be the absolute worst browser for managing bookmarks. I'm thinking of changing to something else.

I have a new installation of Ubuntu 24.04.1 desktop, all default install options (selecting "normal installation"). Upon first login, I'll open firefox, click the sync button and log in. After putting in the code emailed to me and 2FA, my login/sync status show that it's active for just a fraction of a second and then a yellow triangle appears. Clicking the sync button shows my email account with status of "Account Disconnected". However, on Mozilla's account settings web page, it says I am signed in to the new Ubuntu install on the connected services page.

I have attempted to sign in half a dozen times and see the same sequence of events: A successful login and then "account disconnected". I've changed profiles, removed the signed-in profile from mozilla's accounts page, done an apt remove/install of firefox while deleting all profiles, and deleted and re-installed Ubuntu completely from scratch. My system date/time is correct and I don't see any cert errors when browsing regular websites with SSL.

Looking at the sync debug, I see many invalid token messages, with 'invalid token error, but account state appears ok?'. I've pasted them here: https://pastebin.com/squXBebF

I can replicate this by installing ubuntu (https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop), opening the pre-installed firefox and attempting to log in.

I am trying to migrate and update Firefox from my old Mac computer to my new one and preserve all my bookmarks, passwords, etc. I was originally advised to use an "about profiles" method to transfer that data to the new browser by selecting the desired signed-in version, and that seemed to work initially, but when I restarted my new computer today, it reverted to an older version of my bookmarks. Figuring I had conflicting preferences, I completed uninstalled Firefox on that new computer and re-installed a fresh download, however, now the "about profiles" method can no longer find the correct version of Firefox with the bookmarks I want (yes, I am still signed-in on that old computer).

It seems that syncing between computers may be one way to resolve this, however, how do I select the master version of the browser data on my old computer to protect and sync to the browser on my new computer whose data can be over-written ... I don't want to sync in the wrong direction e.g. have the fresh Firefox download without any bookmarks over-write my "reference" version already populated with bookmarks and passwords on my old computer. I am not finding any setting to designate the direction of the sync ... does such a setting exist?

If syncing is not the safest method to transfer the data, can I manually copy all the files and folders from my old computer to the new one, and if so, is there a list of where they all are?

I exported my Firefox bookmarks from my old PC to an HTML file, emailed it to myself, downloaded it, went through the steps to import to Firefox on my new PC but they are not showing up. This is Firefox to Firefox. Should be no problem. What is going on?

I am trying to switch from Chrome to Firefox. I installed it on my Macbook and my iPhone with no issue, but when I try to sign in to the browser on my PC I keep getting stuck after I enter my email it just doesn't take me to the password screen. after a few moments a red box that says "working" pops on the screen.

Signing in to the website to ask this question was not a problem whatsoever.

I tried syncing again and now it skips past the email entry screen and goes right to the password screen. After entering my password, nothing happens.

I would very much like to finish the migration from chrome. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

At one point, I accidentally added duckduckgo (default search) to a container and now I simply cannot remove it from the container assignment. What happens is I remove it on my local computer, but if I go to any other computer that syncs Mozilla containers to my account, it seems like it reassigns DDG to the container again..... even if I remove it yet again.

This seems like an endless loop.

Is there any way to definitively remove a site from a container and force it to sync across all browsers/computers? Something seems awry with which change with a container update is kept as the "default" that gets synced across all the sessions.

I can't log into Firefox sync if logged out. I bought a new laptop that I'm trying to sync, and every time I try, it either claims the password is wrong or the 2fa code is wrong. Every so often it will work, I will get the prompt to download Firefox for mobile too, but then after that screen it appears I'm disconnected again. I tried resetting the password and I got an "unexpected error". Any idea what's going on?

Why I'm I unable to secure and remain safe and secure in all areas and devices that help me please yes I have multiple accounts and diveces but im trying to secure on all of them

Good day. I had to change my password and when I did all my bookmarks, collections etc are gone in my Firefox and I cannot sync to get it all back. I have a laptop that I rarely use that has Firefox on it. But I'm sure that half of the bookmarks on that or older than my phone because I use my phone all the time. Can you help me get all my information back on my Android phone? Anything you can do to help would be really appreciated. Best regards Kerry
