Is there a way to have TB auto delete Trash msgs older than a specified number of days. I don't want to just empty all the Trash folder, but I would like to be able to tell it to empty all messages over 30 days, or 42 days or whatever. Suzanne

I have an email filter set for a domain that has been sending many spam messages. It was working but now they have started to use my name portion of my email address in their email address. For example, if my email address starts with bobp@ then the email address at the top of the email is bobp@ncqkl.com. The domain is real.

The only option for the first column of the filter I am aware of that can be used is "From", "Contains" and "Email Address". I don't believe Thunderbird allows domains. I have tried ncqkl.com to no avail. Somehow they are getting around filters by using your email name portion. They were also using multiple different addresses all with the ncqkl.com domain.

Is my best bet to use the adaptive spam system? I haven't really used it in the past as I haven't needed to. I don't get much spam usually as I don't have much of a presence on the net. Just lately the amount of spam has increased considerably.

J'ai beau essayer diverses solutions, cela fonction un moment puis retourne en spam. De plus j'ai plusieurs dossier spam dont un supprimable. Mais il revient automatiquement également. Hello, I am wondering why mail that is 'Junk' and appears in my 'InBox' rightfully marked as such, still shows up, in my "InBox". Why doesn't it immediately get transferred to the 'Junk' Folder, like it use to? Or is there now something that else I have to do, after marking it as 'Junk'? In time past, as soon as I marked an item as 'Junk' it would transfer to the 'Junk' folder immediately. Why does this no longer happen?

My deleted folder is missing so when I try to delete emails nothing happens. I have one in the Local Folders setup, so I can drag emails to that to remove them, but I don't have one in my "normal" account. How do I restore/create one?

I was in Sweden and got the Skånetrafiken App on my mobile. Now I have a steady stream of Swedish Scam emails that go direct to my inbox. I have been reporting them but they keep coming daily. What can I do?

I started using Thunderbird in hopes it would remove emails from specific email addresses because I don't want to sort through junk emails. The filter I created is not automatically deleting them but If i run it manually it does. I've attachedd a screen shot showing my settings. Am I doing anything wrong? My understanding it that Thunderbird offers this functionality but please let me know if they do not.

Sometimes when I am send an email to 3 or more people, such as a Christmas letter, I will get a message that the "server" has determined that this is spam, and rejects the email. I have found that if I send the message to one or two people it will go through. I am not sure what server it is referring to or why it is considering it spam. My email account is with Cincinnati Bell (now AltaFiber) and they are "fuse.net" accounts. I always assumed that the mail came and went through their servers.

I run Thunderbird 146.01 under Windows 11 Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631... TB pulls messages from a POP Server.

Though I have tried many fixes TB keeps reverting to requiring that I manually run both Spam Sorting, and Filter Sorting, usually after running these functions automatically for about a week.

Might someone suggest a fix that will have some lasting benefit?

When I try and "Compact" my trash folder, I get the following error message: "The folder 'Trash on redacted@gmail.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again."

There is plenty of disk space, but there is no option for "write privileges". The trash folder has grown to 632 MgB even though I keep deleting old messages from the trash folder!

Is there an easier way to block unwante senders than the extra effort to create a filter ? It seems there should be an easy way to "Choose or Apply a Block to a specific email sender by simply clicking on a "BLOCK" link to prevent that sender from sending unwanted emails(not just that email)

I have previously been able to view my trash folder and either empty or keep messages. My trash folder now has nothing in it, ever. Where is my trash going and why can I no longer see it?

Hi. Awhile back alot of stuff was going to Spam that shouldn't have, never did before and it was frustrating. It just started out of the blue. I have a few email addresses and it happened to all of them.

Then I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that the spam folders have disappeared. Don't know why. Of all things, I want my spam folders back so I can see if I'm missing something important. If I don't have spam folders, and I'm getting false spams, where are they?

Did TB delete my spam folders in some update?

the erroneous "JUNK" folder appeared correctly as "SPAM" very briefly before being changed back to "JUNK" - how can I Reserect the "SPAM" name - best option will be to allow each user to change the SPAM folder to another name if wanted I just want the spam folder to be the spam folder

Is there a way to turn off junk and/or spam folders? I have tried putting spam and/or junk folder in trash but it respawns every time. There are messages going to both spam and junk and it's annoying to have to check and empty each one separately. This is the desktop app on a Windows 10 OS. Thx

Tell me how I can make emails that Thunderbird already recognizes as spam go directly to my Junk folder, so they can be deleted in bulk, instead of being sent to my inbox. Every day I have to go through the the scores of political ads and BJ ads etc. and delete every single one individually. This changed with the big update.

 So grateful for any help you can give me.  I have never used anything but Thunderbird for email, but am just ready to give up.
