I have Thunderbird installed on windows 11 and have the import export NG tools add-on. I have an mobx file locally that I am trying to import to thunderbird. I created a local folder and started the import but almost immediately I get this error: "TypeError: window.ietngAddon.mboxCopyImport is not a function", and the only thing that gets imported is the name of the mbox file, as a subfolder

I went to my favorite web site this morning (dpreview/forums) and when it displayed I must have accidentally clicked some Firefox thing because the page was then overlaid with a thin orange highlight with the word PICK on it. I tried moving the cursor off the page but it only changed which segments of the page were highlighted. So I clicked and the page was replaced by just the menu section of the page, apparently that was what was highlighted when I clicked.

Now, no matter what I do, when I try to go to that url only the menu is displayed, the normal list of forums is missing. I've restarted FF. I've rebooted. I've cleared cookies and cache. I've refreshed the page. Nothing helps. Other web sites are fine. I can't imagine what this is for. A diagnostic tool or accessibility thing perhaps.

Please help. I'm running latest FF on latest Win 11.

I think it started to happen with Version 128.9.0esr | Released April 1, 2025. It is very simple to reproduce: 1. Start TB. 2. TB downloads new messages and continues to do it every 1 minute according to the setting. 3. In 10 to 20 minutes, it hangs. I have to force it to close and then restart it to check my email.

I believe it started to happen yesterday.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

There is not a topic in the dropdown list that remotely addresses this issue so I just selected Performance and Connectivity for the hell of it.

Hello I have already reports these issues but did not receive constructive how to correct them. I'll try to be more precise this round.

Thunderbird Issues Summary:

  • Received new messages in the inbox repeat in list multiples (not consistent)
  • Messages deleted to trash repeat back into the inbox (sometimes also in multiples rounds)
  • Notifications in settings non-functional (disappeared)/ Incoming email alerts popup and remain on my screen.
(I have to manually close them one by one.)
  • Mutliple unwanted sub-folders appear and reappear even after multiple attempts to delete them.

There are more issues but not as prominent as the above.

I use an old iMac. (See image)Us there there is an older TB I can download which is compatible with my system? IF it comes to that, HOW do I safeguard all my saved messages to move into the new version? Please advise. Thank you Rob

Have always set up accounts so they download all messages to hard drive.

Since 3/27/25, it is as if it never officially logs the downloads as downloaded, so it downloads each day as if it hasn't been done since 3/27/25, marking all of the messages since then as new.

File is very large so want to try fixing without deleting entire file.

Tried the 'repair this folder' but that didn't work.

Having trouble identifying the exact folder on the hard drive to delete since there are several different accounts in the Thunderbird setup.

I am trying to import a backup of my gmail using using ImportExportTools.

What does this error message mean? Is there a corrupt email in my gmail? If so how can I find and delete it so I can complete the import, I think it was close to finishing.

2nd question.... After clicking OK on the error message I can select the local folder it was importing and I can see it is then downloading a range of messages with mention of their labels in the bottom of the window but the labels are not creating folders. Should I expect it to do that?

Thunderbird - New? User!

I am in a bit of a mess so I am hoping that someone might be able to sort me out......and to clear my conscience, I made a small contribution to Thunderbird recently! Ever since Microsoft had "Windows Live Mail" I have been using it and VERY successfully until Optusnet were having difficulties with it communicating with 'any one'. So recentIy I changed my email address from <gnwalton@optusnet,com.au> to <gnwalton58@gmail.com> and had Gmail read my optusnet account as another account to read.

Optus are my "carrier" (my access to the internet) and have been ever since their inception many years ago.

1. Please look at Image 1 screen dump: You can see from this that I have had various spasmodic entrances into Thunderbird, which I would now like to erase. How?

2. Windows Live Mail had a feature where, while I believed it was downloading my INbox and SENT files from the Optus server or Internet, it also automatically saved these files to my own computer hard drive. I was therefore able to attach a past file (perhaps years ago) to a current email as an attachment........without any archiving! I have instructed Thunderbird to POP my files - which I believe is not allowing them to reside in the "cloud" - so that they now reside IN Thunderbird ON my computer? Could you please confirm my beliefs, or otherwise?

3. Perhaps all this info is contained somewhere is a separate file so I would appreciate your referral to such info and make life easy for you.

4. Perhaps I should also explain I am a retired octogenarian chemical engineer who has been interested in and solving process problems all my life!! I'm just naturally curious!

Kind regards, Geoff Walton Melbourne, Australia

It appears that Thunderbird knows how much disc space is required to compact a folder, since it says there is not enough. I am running Thunderbird 128 (any version) on a Surface Pro 9 running Windows 11. After sleep/hibernate or going into energy-saving mode, TB hangs for a period of minutes. Eventually it comes back, but it can take 5-10 minutes.

I do not have this problem with TB 115 on the same machine, or TB 128 on other machines (e.g. running Windows 10 or Ubuntu). TB 115 on the same machine can take a few seconds to come back (longer than on my other machines), but that s OK.

I have the same expereince whether or not I am troubleshoot mode. I have created a new profile with no add-ons (and less acounts) and I have the same problem. I was wondering if it is something to do with the fact that I have 8000 folders, and somehow TB is hanging while it checks all the folders. That account is a fastmail IMAP connection, but I have experienced similar on a backup Microsoft Exchange account (again an IMAP connection) with similar number of folders.

Any help would be appreciated.

In the last few days, the common Cloudflare widget required to login to many web sites has abruptly stopped functioning in my browser. I'm trying to diagnose what's caused it. I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice.

I noticed the issue on nexusmods.com, but I've confirmed it's a universal problem on ANY site that uses Cloudflare protection. I've continued to use Nexus as my test case.

Observed behavior: 1) The Cloudflare widget loads 2) It displays a checkbox noted, "verify you are human." 3) I click the checkbox. 4) It immediately begins "thinking" (spinny circle and "verifying...") for about nine seconds. There is an "error" message that appears during this, but no details are offered (see screenshot) 5) The widget reloads. 6) Go to step 2

This is an infinite loop.

Fixes attempted: - Disabling all extensions (uBlock, NoScript, Privacy Badger, Decentraleyes) - Clearing cache - Updating to the most recent FF build - Accessing in a private window - Changing DNS settings from Cloudflare to NextDNS - Disabling DNS over HTTPS altogether - Disabling HTTPS-only mode
