I get the notification "https://caldev.1und1.de verlangt einen Benutzernamen und ein Passwort" This Information cannot be given because the 1und1 Mail-Adress has been deletet and does not exist anymore. How can the notification be stopped?

Adding a Usenet account to TB

On previous PC's I had TB configured to access Usenet This used: Server name: news.eternal-september.org It would then appear in the list of accounts in the 'Left Han… (funda kabanzi)

It would then appear in the list of accounts in the 'Left Hand pane'

I have configured (maybe not correctly) Acess, but nothing appears in teh Left Hand pane.

Account information disappeared, cannot be saved

All the information that normally appears when one clicks on the name of an account in account settings (account name, your name, e-mail address, outgoing server to use, … (funda kabanzi)

All the information that normally appears when one clicks on the name of an account in account settings (account name, your name, e-mail address, outgoing server to use, signature, et cet.) has disappeared on all three of my accounts. When I re-enter the information, Thunderbird does not save it.

It happens in troubleshooting mode too.

Thunderbird does still know the account names, my name, my e-mail addresses, and my signatures even though that information does not appear on the page.

How can I make Thunderbird show this information again and make sure that it's using the right outgoing servers?

For reasons I can't fathom, Thunderbird and Google aren't speaking to each other at the moment. :)

have nuisance screens from Google that I cannot provide information in to resolve the problem. I believe that somehow Google is no longer recognizing passwords sent from Thunderbird and vice versa. I'm not receiving email in my Thunderbird inboxes.

My solution is to delete the affected accounts from Thunderbird and add them back. I have passwords.

Before I do this, I thought it prudent to ask the experts if this sounds like a good plan.

What say ye?

Have been trying to set up some pop3 yahoo mail accounts on a new computer. I have used automatic configuration. I have used manual configuration using the data from my old computer. I have checked the configuration settings on both Yahoo and Thunderbird sites. In all instances Thunderbird verifies the account is valid, but the next window asks for my yahoo username and password. I cannot get passed this stage. I have tried entering my yahoo password and I have also tried the app generated password from Yahoo, all I get is a Yahoo "something went wrong" message. Interestingly I did manage to get one of the accounts to work yesterday, but I must have tried no end of different permutations and I have no idea which one eventually worked.

After many years of using Thunderbird with an AOL account I changed my password in AOL to increase the security. So I had to install the AOL account again in Thunderbird.… (funda kabanzi)

I created an app password in AOL and put it in Thunderbird. Everythin fine so far. AOL login window opens automatically. But after login to AOL the message "somthing went wrong" and "try on anther device" pops up. I tried it on several PC's - no way. Other mail clients like Mailspring oder Mailbird did work with the AOL account. What is the problem?

I have tried on K9, and Thunderbird Mobile.

On my tablet, with K9 mail, I exported my fully working accounts, and imported to my phone. All worked, except one account, where it only has an outbox. No inbox, no sent folder, nothing.

I then Installed Thunderbird mobile, and used the QR code link in the desktop app, to sync to it. Same issue. All other accounts work fine, but not that one account. Only an outbox.

I've logged into the web version of that account, and no restrictions are on folders. And it's only on my phone. On tablet it's fine.

I can't even choose folders in settings, for sent, etc, as there are none to choose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm just getting set up with Thunderbird. I used to use Postbox, and imported my Postbox profile into Thunderbird, which overall worked great – it got all my local email folders, and brought in my Apple email account, and so forth. The only wrinkle I've noticed so far is that it also created an account named "server7.invalid" that I can't delete. If I go to Account Settings, for "server7.invalid" it states "The following is a special account. There are no identities associated with it." The only items underneath it are "Spam Settings" and "Disk Space". There is no red Delete button for it, the way there is for my two real (IMAP) email accounts. Viewed on the Mail tab, it appears to contain only "Trash" and "Outbox", and both of those are empty. This weird invalid account doesn't seem to be doing any harm, but of course it is ugly and I just want it to go away. Help?

Today suddenly of my two email accounts, only one was opening when Firefox opened. All my folders were not visible, and the only thing I could see was the inbox for one email account. In the course of my "fixes" it's now even worse. I can only see one old archive folder (I think that's what it is). I tried reading in the forums and questions but nothing helps. I use Norton which some seem to say is a problem with updates, though it never used to be. I know where my stored emails and folders are for both accounts but Thunderbird does not seem to recognize them.

Multiple accounts but stmp setting of one account changes another account

Because of extensive travel, I always copy my profile folder from one computer to the other so all the accounts' folders are current--including Local Folders. Every time,… (funda kabanzi)

Because of extensive travel, I always copy my profile folder from one computer to the other so all the accounts' folders are current--including Local Folders. Every time, things are fine. This time, something is off. I know the stmp setting for each account should show the login password for that account. One account is just fine. The other two change each other so I get an error message when trying to send outgoing mail. When I look at the stmp settings, I see that the password for Account A was changed to the password for Account B. If I correct Account B's setting, Thunderbird immediately changes the password for Account A. To send outgoing mail from either account, I must now check which password shows for both accounts.

I've read everything I can find about anything that seems related to my problem but I cannot find my exact problem.

What can I do?
