When using my calendar and misspelling a word a red line indicates that I misspelled the word but doesn't give a suggestion as to the correct way to spell it. I tried going into preferences to make sure the spell check was on, which it was, so it isn't the problem. I even went into add on to use a different dictionary which didn't help. I'm using the english dictionary and tried the english/canadian one. Any ideas as to what to do to solve the problem? I might add that the spell checker is working while I'm typing you this message. I have version the updated version which is 91.3.2 (32-bit)Looking forward to hearing from you. Dan Caputa

In an earlier version of Thunderbird in the Calendar, I used to be able to double-click on an event on the Calendar, and it would go directly to the Edit window. Now, it opens up an intermediate window and from there I have to click Edit. This UI change slows down my workflow in updating events. Is there a setting I can change to revert back to the previous behavior? When I double-click, I always want it to go to the Edit window. If the setting doesn't exist, could one be added?

Thanks! Michael

Hi guys

Does somebody knows if documentation for auto-discovery wizard exists and where i can find it ? How does this protocol work ? I wonder if i'm able to configure my domain (dns records?) and maybe web serwer to provide nextcloud caldav calendars path for this Thunderbird's startup auto-discovery wizard. I mean something similar to autoconfig.xml used by thunderbird wizard when it searches for e-mail servers settings.

I created a calendar on localendar.com and added it to lightning. When I try to create an event it fails and an icon pops up that says the calendar is momentarily not available. Also, I had created an event on localendar but it does not show up. I'm trying to setup a calendar that DOES NOT require google and that can be shared on multiple devices.

I successfully created a local network calendar new_calendar in TB and my local Radicale calendar server, exported an existing calendar from TB as an ics file, and then double-clicked the ics file to import its 1742 events to new_calendar. TB started OK but then it reported "Import complete. 1,728 items failed to import. Check the Error Console for details." The Error console says:

I have done this with other calendars and import completed successfully, but not this one. Is that an unreported bug?

I can see the calendar and am getting an error when I right-click the calendar and go to the properties that says "If you want to use this calendar to store invitations to or from other people you should assign an email identity below."

But there is nothing in that box that gives me the ability to assign an email.

How do I fix this?

I'm running Thunderbird 78.14 (64 bit) on Ubuntu 20.04 on both a desktop & my laptop. Using Provider for Google calendar to access my Google calendar in Lightning. All worked well on the desktop & laptop for some years. Recently I noticed the laptop wasn't displaying my Google calendar. When I try to Create New Calendar, On the Network, Google Calendar it does not locate my existing Google Calendar on the "Please pick an existing session..." popup. There is no session to select. If I enter my Email address & press Next to the "Please select Calendars & task lists ..." popup it endlessly just sits there. I've tried uninstalling the Google provider addon & starting & restarting & also updating Lightning from file to no avail As I say it all works flawlessly on the desktop (& used to on the laptop too), but I cannot get the laptop (Thinkpad 131) to locate the calendar at all.

Seems to be the same problem as this? :-https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1230294 But I cannot see the resolution.

I have a custom Nextcloud server setup with DAV calendars. With the new Thunderbird 91, whenever I try to add the new calendar, a modal with the Google sign-in page appears. I close that, enter the password in the next pop-up, and the calendar is eventually listed, but nothing gets synced. If I try to create an event, an error is shown saying that the calendar might be read-only , and it gets marked RO after that.

I tried to create a fictious email account having the same domain (@xyz.com) as my NC calendar, and to my surprise it detected it as a Google email server (supposedly GSuite) based on ISP DB, although there are no email services running on it and the ports are closed.

So the question is, why does TB detect custom DAV calendars as Google's and opens the login modal? Is there any way to turn off this detection for calendars? Any workaround for this issue?

In Thunderbird (91.3.2) Calendar, an "All Day Event" shows up in the "Today Pane" spanning two days, the day preceding the event and the day of the event. This appears to be because TB insists on mapping the All Day Event to GMT, whereas I am in the America/New York timezone. Attempts to change the All Day Event to the America/New York timezone are not successful. Windows OS timezone is correct. A test appointment with start time of 12:00 AM and end time of 11:59 PM (on a specific date) displays properly in the "Today Pane." While the "All Day Event" displays properly in the main TB Calendar, its incorrect display in the "Today Pane" leads to confusion. I am happy to provide additional information, if helpful, or to test out a fix for this problem. Thank you. Larry

I've used calendar for events for several years. Now I'm not getting reminders (1 day ahead of event). My preference settings look ok. Just looked at the Mac calendar, and seems much less useful for me. thx.

I'm a developer. I may try to update this add-on but I need to know whether other people would be interested. Please set a bounty (as little as you want) : https://www.bountysource.com/issues/103344247-update-to-thunderbird-91-3-0 and if there's enough people I will work on it (I'm also interested in it but more motivated if it can help others).

This evening I switched to the already running Thunderbird session and the displayed calendar seemed different. It took me a moment to realize that Sundays and Saturdays were not displaying in the main calendar section (see image).

I shut down Thunderbird and restarted it, at which point it also installed an update (so I'm now running 91.3.1). However, those two days were still missing. The only way to get them to display was to put checks next to them in the "Workweek days" selection, which I don't believe I've ever had to change. However, that produces a display with no coloring on those two days, as if it was a 7-day work week.

I am using Fedora Linux, KDE desktop. The Thunderbird calendar page shows all times on a 24 hour clock. I need this to be in a 12 hour AM/PM format.

I've tried exporting LC_TIME="en_US.utf-8" and LC_ALL="en_US.utf-8" but that doesn't make a difference.

The clock in my task bar does show 12 hour AM/PM format, so my desktop, in general, has the correct format, but the Thunderbird calendar appears to be ignoring that setting.

How can I force Thunderbird calendar to use a 12 hour AM/PM format?

For example, so that two people's schedules would show up side by side, in a way that would make it obvious which events belonged to which person. This is a LOCAL (or offline?) calendar. It is not connected to a google calendar, and connecting to a google calendar or other web type calendar is not something we are willing to do.

Thanks in advance, I have searched, but it appears that none of the information about the calendar is pertinent. In fact, it looks like the articles are out of date.

I am trying to understand why a colleague of mine who uses Microsoft Outlook doesn't "see" the invite from my Thunderbird Lightning program, and thus can't accept it into his Outlook calendar. Someone said it has to do with different languages/protocols (.ics?), that Mozilla and Apple are compatible but Outlook and Gmail are not?
