I run Thunderbird on a PC, and, to free up space on Drive C:, I have moved the contents of the folder Thunderbird in Appdata to Drive D:. I then changed my Server Settings, in Thunderbird, from C: to D:, and note that any new mail is indeed now appearing there along with those already transferred. This move could save me a valuable 6 gig of space, and more in the future, however, I am unable to remove that original Thunderbird folder entirely, notably I am unable to remove the contents of the Profiles folder, as it is still linked to the application. Notably with cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite-shm, store.json, mozlz4, aborted-session-ping and many others, which I note some have continued to be updated. I have been unable to find any other settings in Thunderbird referring to Drive C:, other than those in Server Settings.

I could presume that if I installed another version of Thunderbird on Drive D: and maybe moved those existing contents of the Thunderbird folder on C: onto Drive D:, and made those numerous settings changes to the App it could work. But I ask is there an easier way to complete this move? How can I complete this transition of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

I'm in the process of cleaning up Thunderbird e-mail before moving to a new computer. I started with 11,593 e-mails in my Inbox and 7,799 e-mails in my Sent folder. I'm now down to 7,634 in my Inbox and 4,965 in my Sent folder. I've allocated 2 weeks for this process and found that it's taking me about 3 hours per day to meet my daily goals. I'm finding that I'm spending at LEAST half the time responding to "Empty-Trash/Compact-folders" requests. There are times I can delete 50 e-mails at a time without getting a request. Other times I will try to delete ten e-mails and get the request. With the old version of Thunderbird I could literally delete hundreds of e-mails at a time. Can you help? Russ Bukwa Yardley, PA ps. I updated my desktop browser today and now there is an expandable sidebar at the left margin of the window showing tool icons for Tabs from other devices, History and Customize sidebar. I can see how to remove tool icons and how to expand or collapse sidebar but can I remove the sidebar completely? Is this an option? I prefer the old look with the browser web page content extending all the way to the left of the screen, without the narrow vertical sidebar.

to make Thunderbird more attractive, but now I'm having constant problems. The interface has become schizophrenic, and every time I open it, the icons have a different style, so I've been forced to disable the add-ons.

The question is, are there any supported add-ons left? I can't find any on the website. :(

Hi! I'm trying to set Thunderbird as the operating system default under Win 11. I tried to follow Mozilla's instructions: 1. Open the Settings application by pressing and releasing the Windows Start button, then clicking the gear icon. 2. Click the Apps icon, then click Default Apps in the list. 3. Click the icon under the heading Email to show your choices. 4. Select Thunderbird. The trouble is that at n. 3 there is no choice. There is only 'OutlookAccounts' and this item cannot be deleted or replaced. Can you help? All the best, Robifiori

I have some websites that require pop-ups. I cannot get them to work in Firefox on my Android phone. Google searches reference a setting under "privacy and security" where I should be able to allow pop-ups in general or for certain URLs only, but I don't have that setting option.

I have Firefox version 139.4 if that helps.

The other day I accidentally pressed a keystroke that changed a Firefox setting, and now it thinks I'm on a mobile device/displays sites in mobile view where possible by default. This has persisted despite restarts of the browser and the computer and has been happening since Sunday (Australian time). I've tried opening the Responsive Design dev tool and I've sent screenshots to a techsavvy friend (I'm totally blind and use a screen-reader, so couldn't tell this was happening until I tried to use a site that had a radically different layout in mobile view), and aside from not seeing an exit button or a switch to change device mode, he couldn't tell what was going on.

I'm stuck and need help! I would like to unmobile my Firefox!

Copied Thunderbird Profile on old computer to external HDD. Name assigned was zs6…. Installed TBird on new Win10 PC, omitting sign-in procedure. On this PC, clicked Menu, Help, Troubleshooting Info. Opened Profile folder on this PC, left-clicked Roaming, closed TBird. Copied zs6… from ext HDD, pasted onto TBird folder C:\users\owner\appdata\roaming on new PC. Clicked Yes to replace any existing files. Opened \roaming\thunderbird\profiles zs6…. not in there. TBird launches again in Setup. What am I doing wrong?

Hello. In the past two days I lose my tabs when I shut down Firefox. I used to be fine using the X at the top right and when I restarted the browser, all my tabs would still be there. Then they started going missing, so I started using the menu option to exit the browser. The tabs still went missing.

Then I noticed the square icon button on the extreme left and have discovered that Firefox has different windows, and that one of them (see attached image) has all my tabs in it, while the current window does not.

I cannot change Window 2 to be the current window. There is no obvious function on the page, nothing in settings and google is useless - I just get pages of discussion of how to tab between different apps on the desktop.

How do I make Window 2 the current window? See image.

I prefer the tabs be below the bookmark bar, and successfully modified the CSS file to do this some time back. Now update 133 has once again pushed them up below the menu bar. What do I have to do to get them back where I want them this time? And why can't you just leave the tab location preference alone when doing updates?

I updated to version 133 today and was confronted with the vertical tab bar. I did not ask for this or want it, and now I can't get rid of the side bar, in fact I seem to have just made it worse / wider. How can I get rid of this (and block it) It is just taling up space on my screen. Please help.

Am I the only one that finds it almost impossible to change fonts. I can change what I type to Large. But that's all. I can't change anything I Cntrl-V into a message. Or inherit text in the process of a reply.

I want to delete all my bookmarks at once -- I have nearly 1,500. I already asked this question and the response I got showed me how to do this by selecting each one at a time. I want to delete them all, AT ONCE!

Btw, I already explained this ... so, is there a way. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and not keeping the former settings. But the stupid bookmarks keep coming back!

I don't like threaded conversations view. I turned it off so my inbox doesn't show it any more, but search results do and I find it impossible to find what I need. Is it possible to turn off ALL of those threading features across the entire program? Thanks

Recently I opened Thunderbird and it automatically added the following folders to my account:

All the generic yellow folders below the Deleted trash can icon suddenly appeared and they weren't there or weren't shown before. I right-mouse clicked on the account folder, went to Subscribe, unticked the folders that I don't want to subscribe to (all the yellow ones were there), restarted Thunderbird and they all still appeared and the boxes I unchecked, had just rechecked themselves.

I don't want them shown. Is there anyway to fix this?

Using Tbird 78.14.0 (64 bit) with Windows 10. I can no longer access the Page Setup screen properly. I suspect it's because I accidentally put a very big value in for the top margin. The print preview for even a short email says it's many pages, there's no text visible on any of those pages, the only part of the Page Setup screen visible is OK and Cancel at the bottom, and I can't get to the top of the screen. I've tried closing and re-opening Tbird to no avail. How can I get to the top of the Page Setup screen to fix the problem?

I haven't upgraded browser versions for a while and I'm now going from 109 to 132. Pretty bad I know.

I'm having a number of issues but for this post I'd like to concentrate on userChrome.css.

In version 109, I had a custom font for the top menu bar, the top menus, the bookmark toolbar, the bookmark toolbar menus, and the right click menus. I did this by including the following in userChrome.css (as per [https://support.mozilla.org/si/questi.../1335097|here]:

1. navigator-toolbox { font-family:"MyFont" !important }

This worked great, but it is no longer working in version 132. Obviously I don't know in which Firefox version this stopped working.

Has this been disabled by Mozilla or has it been changed? If it's been changed, how can I achieve it now?

My page throws errors in Firefox Nightly such as

The page references ten CSS files besides having dozens of its own CSS declarations. The issue is tha the reference provided to the error (:1:1) does not indicate where I can find the error. That is, I don't know which declaration is at fault. Is there some straighforward way to find the declaration in question?

Before the last update, when you assigned a colored label to the message (e.g., work, important, etc.), the entire title, header of the message, took the chosen color. Now you only see a small tag.

'The previous system was definitely more practical. Can it be reactivated?
