Hello,

how can i disable firefox usage hints like "Try tab groups for less clutter, more focus"?. It opens up if i open up a certain amount of tabs. Is there anything i can disable in about:config?

Hello. I am using Linux Mint 21.3 cinnamon and Firefox 144.0.2 When I use Google maps and the yellow small pointer (cartoon) to go on a specific street, the window come black when shifting to street view. My only extension is disabled, hardware acceleration unchecked, cache cleared and cookies cleared. I have made fresh install and nothing help. Troubleshooting mode allow street view to work fine but normal mode don't work. Google chrome work good. Chromium work good. And finally, Firefox work ok on my Linux mint LMDE 6.

Any idea where to go to solve this issue?

So Im currently trying to watch young sheldon on netflix, and im doing it through firefox, and it wont work, it says error code f7701-1003, thank you for your time.

Firefox may still be downloading the latest update in the background even if the “About Firefox” window says it’s up to date. Updates are applied after restarting Firefox

On Firefox 128.14.0esr (build 20250811113756), Linux/X11, the setting browser.tabs.hoverPreview.enabled does change back to "true" every few days, or perhaps browser restarts.

How can I turn off tab previews reliably?

Since a while, I think it is since I created an extra testprofile with "firefox-esr -P", but I've set my main profile as default again

When opening a link in another program than firefox I get always: a popup "Close Firefox" "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile."

I do have both firefox and firefox esr, I usually use regular firefox the second came with the debian 13 repository.

I keep the esr to test display issues for reproducibility on my personal desktop, because I manage debian 13 kiosk-style desktops with firefox-esr.

(I noticed also that the regular firefox profiles can not be opened in firefox esr, so I use an extra profile for esr)

Yesterday I switched on my PC, opened Firefox and the home page was black. See the attached screenshot. This is not caused by some accidental switching on of the dark mode. Dark mode is clearly off. Neither can I adjust settings to make the Google home page revert to its customary light grey shade.

This isn't a big deal, I know. And it has happened before and in a short period gone away by itself. Maybe it is to do with a glitch in the latest Firefox version. But it has an unpleasant appearance and discourages surfing.

My Chrome Google home page doesn't have this issue.

Can anyone advise on how to fix this unwanted black screen problem ?

Why is Firefox leanining into this ai nonsense? Its antithetical to privacy amd security, it slows down the browser for no benefit, so i end up jumping through hoops to turn it all off. If I wanted AI, I'd be using chrome or edge. I don't want AI. If firrfox continues to shove this ai onto us i'll have to switch again. Its self sabotage at this point

i cannot install lastpass extension anymore, unless i update to latest firefox version.

this will force me to switch browsers to Chrome or Opera.

I don't like being forced to install the latest firefox.

I intend to stay with older versions that work better.

Why isn't there a simple means to remove/prevent searches for the address bar, using config doesn't work.

I've used Firefox for over twenty years, this annoyance will end that and force a move to Brave.

I created a firefox profile from another, so I start with the same saved passwords and bookmarks which is nice.

Now I want to sync this new profile with the sync service of the mozilla account.

First, I tried to use the same mozilla account I was using for the original profile (which would be ideal), but I get an error saying: This account is already in use.

OK, so I thought, instead, I could use an alternative mozilla account to sync this new copied profile, but, when I try to register/login with another account I get this other error:

This profile was previously synced with a different account.

To keep your data organized and secure, each Firefox profile can only be synced with one account. To log in using ***@***, you must create a new profile.

Isn't there anyway to sync this new profile to a mozilla account? What's the whole point of copying profiles if you, after, cannot sync it? :/
