Firefox on MacOS Tahoe "freezes" after closing and re-opening my laptop

I am using Firefox on my MacOS Tahoe. There is a persistent annoying issue where whenever I close (physically fold) my laptop screen and reopen it, Firefox will be frozen… (funda kabanzi)

I am using Firefox on my MacOS Tahoe. There is a persistent annoying issue where whenever I close (physically fold) my laptop screen and reopen it, Firefox will be frozen. It will be frozen in the sense that I am unable to interact with any tabs or anything until I manually quit Firefox and reopen it (which automatically reopens all my tabs), making it usable again. This doesn't happen every time I close and reopen my Mac, but it definitely happens the majority of the time and makes the browser hard to use.

I've attached a screenshot of what a new window looks like when Firefox is frozen. It looks just like a Firefox window when unfocused.

Notes:

  • It doesn't entirely freeze Firefox. In fact, I can "switch" to a different tab by clicking on the tab and then shutting and reopening my laptop again. The new tab will show on reopening but Firefox will still be frozen. This process can be repeated.
  • I can pretty consistently replicate the bug by shutting my laptop, waiting 10 seconds, and reopening it. This will almost always result in the freeze.
  • The bug still happens if I'm not focused on the Firefox window but on a different app.
  • The bug doesn't seem to happen if I just lock my screen but don't shut it closed.

Things I've tried that haven't fixed it:

  • Updating my OS.
  • Restarting my laptop.
  • Disabling hardware acceleration.
  • Disabling themes and extensions.
  • Deleting and reinstalling Firefox, including deleting the user data in the "Library/Application Support" folder.

Let me know if there's any more information I can provide or fixes I can try. Also let me know if I should go ahead and file a Firefox bug report for this. Thank you.

I run the current Firefox version under Windows 11 Pro on a Dell Inspiron 15 3530 laptop, Lately, I've been having problems with my bookmarks:

  • First, I found that I had somehow lost a large number of bookmark tags; it took me several days to restore them,
  • Next, I found that I had lost a bunch of bookmark subfolders; the bookmarks (for the most part) are still listed under their tags.
  • When I try searching for tags in Bookmarks Manager, the search yield no results
  • When I try to restore my bookmarks from a previous date, I get an "unable to process file" message.
  • When I try to open the profile folder through the debugging information page, I get a "file not found" message. After some searching, I found the profile folder not at "C:\Users\croge\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\7csymh5k.default-release", but at "C:\Users\croge\AppData\Local\Packages\Mozilla.Firefox_n80bbvh6b1yt2\LocalCache\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles", Something seems to have gone haywire--did I miss something, or is there an error somewhere?

Firefox stopped loading yahoo and aol. It keeps telling me that it might be because Im not accepting cookies but I turned it on. Im able to load the pages through Google and Duck Go. I'm getting ready to delete Firefox if I can't get it working, which would be a shame.

I have been using the Dashlane Password system on my desktop for several years and it works great with Firefox, however, Firefox was recently upgraded (automatically) to Firefox version 145. Now I can no longer access the Dashlane application which contains all of my passwords. What should I do to recover my Dashlane application?

The 2-year-old support page "View synced tabs from other devices" gives 2 methods for syncing all your tabs from one Windoze FF to another. Neither one does anything at all for me now. The "right-click on the device in the sidebar" sounded SO promising, but it does not cause anything at all to happen. And checking the "sync tabs" box does indeed make them all show up in the sidebar list, but does not open anything. So besides clicking on each of the hundreds of tabs listed, how can I do this, or is it just another FF functionality lost to time?

I want to delete/remove subject folder from my Windows 11 desktop. I did not create this folder; it suddenly appeared after I reinstalled the Firefox browser. These are the steps I am using in the deletion process: I right click on the folder and click on the delete icon. At the top of the window it says "Folder Access Denied." (Image 1) Below that it says, "You'll need to provide administrator permission to delete this folder." If I click on the "Continue" button, then the error message changes to "You require permission from OWNER/(me) ... to make changes to this folder." (Image 3) The permissions for this folder listed in the "Security" tab lists three groups: 1. "SYSTEM," 2. "F... S... (...@ Outlook.com)" and 3. "Administrators (Owners/Administrators)." All the foregoing have full control and modify control for this folder. The "More details" seen in Images 1 and 3 is grayed out so I cannot get any additional information. I continued to try using the code you sent via email several times and even though it appeared to. accept the password it still rejects your code. I have tried both caps and lower case characters but it still rejects the login
