I have a Tomcat server which I would like to visit via it's IPv6 address.

In IPv4, I would simply type http://<ipv4-address>:8080 in the URL bar.

In IPv6, I can't seem to find out what I have to type in the URL bar - every request I make sends me to my default search engine.

Among others, I tried the following:

http://[<ipv6-address>]:8080

http://[<ipv6-address>%eth0]:8080

To my understanding of RFC 5952, this should do the job.

However, also skipping the destination port doesn't seem to send me to the server on port 80 or 443:

http://<ipv6-address>

https://<ipv6-address>

I've even tried to add the host in my /etc/hosts, with any of those lines:

<ipv6-address>%eth0 foo

<ipv6-address> bar

Still, requests such as

http://[foo]:8080

http://foo:8080

http://[bar]:8080

http://bar:8080

also don't seem to work.

Firefox version in use is 44.0.2

Thanks for your help!

I understand the newest version of Firefox offers support for WebP images, which is cool and great... but not when I need to download those images for use on my computer. As an artist I need to be able to save things as .jpg or .png for my art programs (or even preview) to be able to open them. Is there any way to make this an option, or to not default to webp when saving images?

I've also tried changing the extension on the file using the "all files" option but it just corrupts the file and won't open them.

This has just started happening: every time I try to print from a remote website (thetimes.co.uk) I get this message:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

It is not the website, as the request works from Microsoft Edge.

I can't see any changes to the parameters which might have affected this.

Any ideas please?

Just recently (I believe on Oct 30) I have been encountering this problem while trying to log into the Rooster Teeth web site. I have tried clearing cookies and cache multiple times to no effect, and the help page suggestion for the workaround of clicking "Or you can add an exception..." doesn't work because that button does not appear on the warning page anymore. I am only getting this warning error when trying to log into ( http://roosterteeth.com/home.php ) and only while trying to log in, it doesn't pop up for anything else on the site or any other site that I've gone to. Any help on fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Ever since the upgrade, my yahoo chat won't work on my pc. I can't get the chat windows to pop up. I can see someone is trying to chat with me, but no window. I'm not the only one this is happening to. I have a friend who has gone through the same thing. We've both tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Please fix this particular issue as we both prefer firefox over internet explorer, but our chat works fine in IE. Thanks!

I frequently get the "Firefox can't find the server at ..." message but in most cases clicking "refresh" gets to the relevant website. Based on limited usage of IE, IE doesn't give the same problems. In attempting to resolve the issue I've deleted and reallowed Firefox through the firewall, tried starting in safe mode, cleared the cache, made suggested additional entries though About:config, etc. all to no avail. Judging from discussion threads this problem appears to be very common but none of the solutions I've tried work. Any suggestions for possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
