When I try to send an email, I get the following response. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: invalid user ID or password. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again. Have looked in account settings and cannot see a password anywhere. Email address is correct Help please Carol

This is actually the same in Firefox, and both only since today, working fine before:

Typing Ctrl-C does nothing, Ctrl-X deletes whatever is selected, but it does not end up in the clipboard. In fact, if the clipboard contains something, it will be removed (Win-V still shows it, but it can no longer be pasted). When copying from somewhere else, pasting with Ctrl-V works.

AFAICT, no issues with any other programs.

Latest versions of FF (151.0.2) and Thunderbird (151.0.1), on Windows 10.

What could be wrong?

Hello, I have six calendars: five are hosted by one provider, Runbox.com, via SabreDAV, and one is hosted by a different provider, Apple iCloud Calendar. I am periodically seeing the error shown below on multiple calendars during automatic sync.

I have saved a two-day event history from the error console and can provide it on request, along with any other troubleshooting information that may be helpful.

I am technical by nature, but my programming experience was primarily with mainframes rather than personal computers. Could someone kindly help me troubleshoot this ongoing issue?

I have two identities in my Thunderbird 44.0. When I click get messages for one of the identities, "loading messages" shows in the status bar and the cursor shows an hourglass. It's stuck in this mode forever until I select a folder in the other identity. If I go back to the first identity and select the Inbox, the hourglass comes back and the perpetual "loading messages" shows again in the lower status bar.

If I can find the installation file, should I try to install it again, or uninstall first. And how can I save the email and profile(s) before I do the uninstall.

Any suggestions...

TB Authentication Failed with new outlook.com accounts Definetely not a problem of username, password, etc: everything double checked. No problems with old outlook.com accounts or connecting BlueMail for Windows to the new created accounts, but still I would like to use Thunderbird...

I have an address book setup with a number of what I'll call sub books for want of a better name. I used to be able to copy a contact from the address book to a sub book. I have either forgotten how to do that or something may have changed. I tried to drag & drop the address from the main book to the sub book but that doesn't work any longer. What am I missing here?

I'm having a recurring problem with discrepancies in the message count when I move emails from one Thunderbird folder to another. I regularly "sort" my emails into specific folders based on topics and other search criteria, but I frequently encounter situations where the number of messages I see on screen in a folder is less than what Thunderbird lists as the total number of messages in the folder. Why is this happening and how can I view the missing / hidden messages?

Hello, I am using thundebird since 2022. I need to use new PC and transfering all emails, However some [sub folder] does not go through. we tried several times and try delate special character, but it did not go well.Ex.folder name Malaysia has subfolder but Aus is not.

Is there any solution?

I have a calendar that is shared by 4 devices. If I snooze or dismiss a reminder on 1 device, it should not affect the reminder on the other devices. Please implement a local snooze option at the individual calendar level.

I can get a couple hundred e-mails but none since 5-31-2026. I can see later e-mails in yahoo but I use thunderbird because yahoo is too cumbersome to use for just E-mails. I sometimes get a message that my account is being processed. I have had this problem before but can't remember how I got out of it. I am computer literate but I am also 91 years old. Think Biden! I need emails! I am frozen in the middle Roku install because I never got their code and they are now frozen.

cannot receive or send email says to login to server mail.twc.com failed Also says unable to authenticate to outgoing server SMPT check PW did and still not working. Spectrum say server is failing to communicate with their server.

Had to change my ISP password which I did. I then removed all passwords from Thunderbird. I then downloaded the newest version (listed below) After the download I clicked on get messages - no response - did not ask for a password. My ISP pop address is properly listed. I went further and clicked on write - a box opened up asking for a password. Of course I entered my new ISP password and it showed up under saved passwords (smtp etc). I can write and send messages but not receive. I would appreciate a fix to be able to download messages - I miss my Thunderbird. Thank you - I must admit I'm not very teck savvy

SEARCH MODE IS NOT WORKING IN MAIN OR SUB FOLDERS. AS A TEST, I SEARCHED FOR A WORD THAT I KNEW WERE IN THOSE FOLDER[S] AND IT COULD NOT FIND. IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT HARD TO DO; THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOGGING ME FOR YEARS AND I JUST MOVED ON WITH NO ANSWER. PLEASE HELP.

TB connects to Yahoo Plus just fine. Folders display but no emails display?? I fixed this once a while back by deleting config files in TB and re-adding Yahoo. It has happened again?? Forgot which files I wiped (in Linux Mint). Anyway to avoid doing this continually and what's the fix?

I am using Kubuntu 26.04 and I am using the monthly stable channel version of the Thunderbird Snap. In KDE system settings, the default email client is set to Thunderbird. Upon every startup of Thunderbird, it ask if I want to set it as the default client for email, newsgroups, feeds and calendar and when I click yes and close Thunderbird and reopen it it does the same thing, over and over. Otherwise the email program operates just fine otherwise. My email accounts are all setup properly and functioning and working and it downloads email just fine. It just has that annoying popup upon every startup. I've included two images to show what I mean. I like the Snap version and prefer that container format. I would like someone who is smarter than me to file a bug on my behalf.
