I updated my desktop browser today and now there is an expandable sidebar at the left margin of the window showing tool icons for Tabs from other devices, History and Customize sidebar. I can see how to remove tool icons and how to expand or collapse sidebar but can I remove the sidebar completely? Is this an option? I prefer the old look with the browser web page content extending all the way to the left of the screen, without the narrow vertical sidebar.

After updating to v132 I have noticed a significant increase in the load times for some websites that our users connect to. Using v131.0.3 I usually see < 1 second load times for the two websites I am monitoring but after upgrading to v132 it is consistently taking 18-19 seconds for the same page. I have tried uninstalling v132 and reverting to v131 and it immediately goes back to the much faster load times. I have also tried installing various v133 releases and I see the same performance issue as for v132.

The environment I am working in is behind a network firewall with relatively restrictive internet access and I am wondering whether there are sites that Firefox is trying to connect to for the new anti-tracking or suspicious activity features (or anything else) that are being blocked and are therefore causing timeouts and retries that are bumping the total load time up.

Can anyone think of anything else I could check or change?

The other day I accidentally pressed a keystroke that changed a Firefox setting, and now it thinks I'm on a mobile device/displays sites in mobile view where possible by default. This has persisted despite restarts of the browser and the computer and has been happening since Sunday (Australian time). I've tried opening the Responsive Design dev tool and I've sent screenshots to a techsavvy friend (I'm totally blind and use a screen-reader, so couldn't tell this was happening until I tried to use a site that had a radically different layout in mobile view), and aside from not seeing an exit button or a switch to change device mode, he couldn't tell what was going on.

I'm stuck and need help! I would like to unmobile my Firefox!

Hello. In the past two days I lose my tabs when I shut down Firefox. I used to be fine using the X at the top right and when I restarted the browser, all my tabs would still be there. Then they started going missing, so I started using the menu option to exit the browser. The tabs still went missing.

Then I noticed the square icon button on the extreme left and have discovered that Firefox has different windows, and that one of them (see attached image) has all my tabs in it, while the current window does not.

I cannot change Window 2 to be the current window. There is no obvious function on the page, nothing in settings and google is useless - I just get pages of discussion of how to tab between different apps on the desktop.

How do I make Window 2 the current window? See image.

I prefer the tabs be below the bookmark bar, and successfully modified the CSS file to do this some time back. Now update 133 has once again pushed them up below the menu bar. What do I have to do to get them back where I want them this time? And why can't you just leave the tab location preference alone when doing updates?

I updated to version 133 today and was confronted with the vertical tab bar. I did not ask for this or want it, and now I can't get rid of the side bar, in fact I seem to have just made it worse / wider. How can I get rid of this (and block it) It is just taling up space on my screen. Please help.

Using Tbird 78.14.0 (64 bit) with Windows 10. I can no longer access the Page Setup screen properly. I suspect it's because I accidentally put a very big value in for the top margin. The print preview for even a short email says it's many pages, there's no text visible on any of those pages, the only part of the Page Setup screen visible is OK and Cancel at the bottom, and I can't get to the top of the screen. I've tried closing and re-opening Tbird to no avail. How can I get to the top of the Page Setup screen to fix the problem?

I haven't upgraded browser versions for a while and I'm now going from 109 to 132. Pretty bad I know.

I'm having a number of issues but for this post I'd like to concentrate on userChrome.css.

In version 109, I had a custom font for the top menu bar, the top menus, the bookmark toolbar, the bookmark toolbar menus, and the right click menus. I did this by including the following in userChrome.css (as per [https://support.mozilla.org/si/questi.../1335097|here]:

1. navigator-toolbox { font-family:"MyFont" !important }

This worked great, but it is no longer working in version 132. Obviously I don't know in which Firefox version this stopped working.

Has this been disabled by Mozilla or has it been changed? If it's been changed, how can I achieve it now?

Before the last update, when you assigned a colored label to the message (e.g., work, important, etc.), the entire title, header of the message, took the chosen color. Now you only see a small tag.

'The previous system was definitely more practical. Can it be reactivated?

I moving from classic outlook to Thunderbird and I am having trouble finding how to change fonts and color in signatures for my emails. I do not do html it is a simple signature; name company name and phone numbers. I search and found no help. Is there a way to change color and font in the reply to an email? Sorry I know this sounds simple but I have been using outlook since it came out so this is similar but just enough to give me trouble. Thank you for any help, rick

After the last update the address bar is divided into two parts. One below and the other above. How can I change the settings that I get only a address bar above with two parts. Attached the screen

Using Thunderbird 128.5.0esr (64-bit) on 128.5.0esr (64-bit). In calendar view, I see all my appointments with the background colour of the calendar they are in (see attached). In my inbox view, I have the Events tab open at the right. All day events have the background colour of the appropriate calendar, but ones with timings have a dot. (see attached). How do I make ALL calendar events have the background colour of the associated calendar in the mail events tab??

I changed the settings on an email account in Thunderbird to imap from pop3 as well as with a different host. Now everything is gone.

Is there any way to get them back? :(

A delete button is not available for the 'read message' pane. In the older versions of TB around v60, I could have the same toolbar in the inbox and all the panes. Is there a way to resolve this annoyance. I had the upgrade to a later version because MS changed the security settings from 'Normal Password' to 'OAuth2' which apparently does not work with TB v60. Thanks for any help. I have been using TB for many years. btw, I also miss having the 'Account Colors' extension which is not available (or compatible) with the later TB versions.

Is it possible to bookmark a particular section of a page, whereas the bookmark will take you to that location?

Textmarker was suggested in another thread, but apparently it is no longer working.

In previous versions, there was a setting to download messages from the domain email server when you checked for email. This meant that it would reside on my HD, where I would retain a copy no matter what the email server did. When I replaced my PC, I moved to a newer version, but I cannot find a setting to do this, and my emails are being deleted by the server at some point (I wish to retain these.) How do I make this happen? I wouldn't think that this would be a big ask, which is why I don't understand why I no longer am seeing this setting.

Now it's completely impossible to open PDFs outside Firefox, as I could do until the last couple of beta versions.

This trend is going on since a few years ago, from bad to worst. The whole design of the PDFs download process is bad. PDFs should be treated by FF as any other file: download and open with the system default PDF viewer. Imposing Firefox's internal PDF viewer as mandatory for downloaded PDFs is nonsense.

Hello, I have enabled the Thunderbird dark mode. My expectation was that all messages in the message list are displayed in white on a dark background.

Unfortunately, the message list often uses a black font on a dark background.

I changed the color in the message pane using settings --> Colour

I followed the instructions/workarounds here for using dark theme, including reset and troubleshoot mode. https://support.mozilla.org/sv/questions/1439922

But it did not help. Maybe you guys can help.

Thunderbird Problem: For many years I have been using the Thunderbird mail client currently in ver. 128.7.0esr (32 bit) on S.O. Windows 10 Home Update 22H2 (OS Build 19045.5487), 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. I have a couple of mail accounts, one of mine and one of my wife. My problem is that for a few days now (about 5 or 6 days) on the InBox folder of my account, only mine, I have not been able to compact the folder. When I try to compact it, the response message is always the following: <The Inbox folder on "my_account_name@gmail.com" cannot be compacted because it is not possible to write to it. Verify that you have enough disk space and have write privileges, then try again> On my disk the available space is 121 Gb on C: where the program with the InBox folders resides and 266 Gb where the data stored in custom folders resides. The write privileges are always the same, never changed, of Administrator. I have already tried the path of "repairing the folder" and re-indexing the folder, but without success. Al tentativo di compattarla il messaggio di risposta è sempre il seguente: <La cartella Posta in arrivo su "nome_mio_account@gmail,com" non può essere compattata in quanto non è possibile scriverci. Verificare di avere spazio su disco sufficiente e avere privilegi di scrittura, quindi riprovare> Sul mio disco lo spazio disponibile è di 121 Gb su C: dove risiede il programma con le cartelle InBox e di 266 Gb dove risiedono i dati archiviati in cartelle personalizzate. I privilegi di scrittura sono sempre quelli, mai cambiati, di Amministratore. Ho già tentato la strada della "riparazione della cartella" e della re-indicizzazione della cartella, ma senza successo. In the Thunderbird calendar, I'm trying to create a repeating event that occurs on the fourth Wednesday from Sep 25, 2024 through Jan 22, 2025.

But each time I try to set it up, using Jan 22 as the end date, Thunderbird changes the end date to Jan 21 and so the last event does not get created. I've tried several times and this keeps happening.

What's going on?
