I have avoided going from version 52 to 60 because of the loss of some Extensions, but finally made the change on both my desktop and laptop.

Both computers now open to the Account Central page momentarily before going to the Mail InBox page.

I see that there have been several bug reports on this issue but apparently no corrective action.

Both computers are running Windows 10 Pro with the latest updates from Microsoft.

There was no problem with version 52, but Thunderbird 60.4.0 definitely has an unresolved issue.

Used all the settings supplied by Apple on their support site. Even tried p04-mapi.mail.me.com and p04-smtp.mail.me.com., the proper ports, SSl/TSL and normal password. I continue to receive the error the the password is not correct but it is the password that word on the iPhone.

I tried a 2022 sourced help answer result content but it was broken, and that seemed to be the most recent gainful help response connected to my issue, another variant from elsewhere did not work at all, it was probably older still, so I need working code for the most recent version of Firefox Browser, or however recent enough to not so conflict. Much Appreciated.

This is essentially the same problem as https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1430726 . I am running 128.1.0esr, and the problem surfaced recently. I installed 128.0.1esr (replacing 115.13.0) on July 31. and the problem might have been re-introduced there. I have not researched the version numbers, so I do not know why I went from 115.13.0 to 118.0.1esr.

Here is the problem. I want to see all of the mails with a certain string in the sender field. After I have typed the first character in the filter field, Thunderbird goes into a "Not Responding" state, and I see a spinning blue circle. After I have entered the entire string, it takes a while before TB becomes responsive. When TB becomes responsive, I can delete all of the selected messages (in less than a second). But when I then remove or change the string, TB takes a lot of time before becoming responsive again. Wayne Mery posted at the end of that other archived thread "115.9.0 has a patch related to quick filters which may help." Has that patch somehow been regressed? Thanks.

When pasting text from a Word document into the body of an email I am composing, Thunderbird creates double line spaces where ever there was a carriage return in the Word document text to create a new line. These double lines spaces are not editable in the body of the email. This problem has been occurring ever since the latest Thunderbird update 52.1.1. Also, after pasting the Word text in the body of the email I'm composing, whenever I press the RETURN key, a double line space is created.

How come FF translates sites in tiny, irrelevant languages like Bulgarian, but not from major languages like Chinese and Arabic?!?

I wish I could dump Edge, but this FF deficit forces me to keep Edge on my computer...

I am trying to install the latest version of Thunderbird 38.3, with the Maildir. But when I go to Tools/Options/General the option to choose "Message Store Type for New Accounts", the default option is "One Large File (mbox)" is greyed out. It means Thunderbird does not allow me to choose Maildir. Can someone please advise how can I use Thunderbird with Maildir?

After updating Thunderbird, Verizon server no longer recognizes my password, so authentication keeps failing. I can neither send nor receive email. Account settings are correct. Any ideas? Thanks.

Using Thunderbird only one week, and it's outstanding, until today. Now, when I *write or *reply to an e-mail, my screen is totally filled, covering up important parts of my screen. How can I stop this from happening, i.e. NEVER go to full screen when doing e-mail???? Thank you in advance.

I have 3 active email accounts. Before the latest update, and certainly until very recently - I could see all my emails from the three accounts combined when viewing the inbox. Now I can only see one of the email accounts when looking in the inbox. This is not even the default account. Access to the other email accounts can only be seen when selecting the individual email account.

I wish to return to having one combined inbox. Is this possible please?

If an URL already have many tags or longish tags I can no longer see suggested tags when starting to type tags. Image example illustrates. This URL already have the following tag list:

1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI

Old behavior was if started to type ", spi" it would list suggestions:

Spitfire Spitfire_MkIX Spitfire_MkV Spitfire_MkVI

Easy & clear to select from.

Now it lists all already existing tags before each suggestion:

1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI,Spitfire 1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI, Spitfire_MkIX 1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI,Spitfire_MkV 1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI, Spitfire_MkVI

Suggestions are scrolled right invisible outside the input box.

Who thought this was a good new feature? It adds nothing, I can already see existing tags, why would I want to see them repeated for each new suggested tag (while not actually seeing the suggested new tag)?

How can I turn this *!$&@! off and return to old behavior?

I now have the problem that I am on a large payment page and switch back and forth between FF and another app (to copy payment-relevant data). Unfortunately, FF does a page refresh every time it is brought back to the foreground from the background. And all the data already entered is lost! This is a fairly well-known problem with FF on Android! Chromium manages this better and leaves the memory management to Android. Why can't FF do that? Why can't I switch off this feature? I can't edit any relevant websites with the FF. I have to use Chrome for that! Hooray!

Since the installation of Thunderbird 60.3. (09.11.) attached word files are corrupted. I cannot open the attached word file after receiving a copy of my mail. All servers from companies refuse my mail alltogether. I deleted already the mimeTypes.rdf file, but no solution. The previous version Thunderbird 52 on my second MacBook works absolutely fine as also on this Retina Book until the 09.11. The problem occurs with all my mail accounts under Thunderbird 60.3. I attach files to show the problem.

I imported my Yahoo contacts into Thunderbird. All my keywords were in the "Notes" field in Yahoo. After importing into Thunderbird, all these ended up in the "Other" field.

When I go into the search tool, it lists all searchable fields. "Other" is not included. Is there any way to search "Other"? Or is there a way to import the contacts in a way that lands the Yahoo "Notes" into a searchable field?

After the transfer, when I open Thunderbird on Ubuntu, one account and all the folders appear. But the other account is empty (just an empty Inbox,...).

The move was done copying the Thunderbird "profile folder" from one machine to another. Then as a second try (after deleting all the files on the target machine from the other attempt) with Tools->Import/Export->Export Profile method.

The folders exist in the exported folders "D:\Local-D\Thunderbird eMail\2019-01-28_Mov2Tarus\7rkcx2ly.default-20190128-1418\ExternalMailFolders\Settings"

I have been using Thunderbird for many years and there may be a problem with that. The reason I say that is there is a file "compatibility.ini".

I have searched for most of today trying to find a solution, but nothing I tried works.

Both eMail accounts are Pop Mail Server. Source machine is Win7, target machine is Ubuntu 18.

Okay so I have a number of filters set up and working fine. However, lately it seems that the domain geniboca.com is sending a bunch of spam using different usernames in front of the root domain name and I cannot seem to filter them using just the domain name itself. I can filter them using the whole email address but for obvious reasons this isn't what I want. I am getting about 100-200 of these per day with different usernames so I am not going to manually add each email address to the filter that would be ludicrous and unproductive.

I set up my filters like so: Manually Run; Getting New Mail; Filter Before Junk Classification; Match All Of The Following; From, To, CC, or BC; Ends With; Delete Message

I have also tried the options like contains etc but nothing is working this a-hole is still able to send me emails with different usernames attached to the domain name geniboca.com.

For the record I have browsed through a lot of similar questions in this forum regarding similar situations but nothing I've tried is working. Any ideas? Thanks in Advance for your support.

I'm running 52.4.0. When I go to Account Setting from the Tools tab, my settings have disappeared. I'm only given an Account Actions dropdown that only offers adding or deleting accounts. I have fairly recent backups that would permit me to restore selected files, if that would help. I have all of my folders and, otherwise, Thunderbird is okay, downloading new emails, sending emails, etc.
