I have a dual boot Windows / Linux Mint dual boot pc with the profile on the windows drive. I have Thunderbird installed on both and the Linux Thunderbird linked to the profile on Windows. This has up until now worked for me. The Windows Thunderbird is on the esr channel (140.0.1esr) and the linux Thunderbird is installed from the software repository. I'm guessing the two Thunderbird versions on Windows and Linux have gotten out of "sync"? Now when I use the Linux Thunderbird I get the message that the profile has been modified by a newer copy of Thunderbird (the last update on on Windows).

UbuntuHandbook.org details how to install Mozilla Thunderbir via ppa.

I would really like to access my emails from both operating systems.

Can I install Thunderbird via the ppa command to get the esr client over the top of the existing Linux Thunderbird or should I uninstall the existing package first? Do you guys think this will work? Thanks in advance.

If this question is posted in the wrong place, I hope the admins will move it to where it should be.

I recently purchased an Amazon SmartTV. It works beautifully with my wifi network. I cannot find the Firefox browswer in the app store. Searching revealed several articles purporting to instruct on how to install Firefox on smart TVs, but none of them worked for me. I was instructed to download and install an app called Downloader (which I did) then instructed to use a code (28907) which should have taken me to a menu where I could proceed. Unfortunately, nothing happened after entering that code. I could not proceed past entering the code.

My Tv uses a Firestick remote but does not use a FireTV stick, dongle or cube. I have other apps installed on the TV but the were either pre-installed or came from the app store available on the TV.

Is it possible to install the Firefox browser on my TV? If so, can someone point me to an article that will tell me how to do so?

TIA

I'm trying to download android Firefox for mobile phones through PC Firefox. Now it seems that Android devices can only get Firefox through Google play. However, this is a nightmare for Firefox users in many countries in the world where the Internet is strictly censored and blocked, such as the People's Republic of China. Not only is the Internet strictly censored and blocked like android phones, so they can't get Firefox or other products through www.mozilla.org because the page will be directed to Google play. People don't have Google's android suite so they can't get Firefox in this way. So I recommend developers to The Firefox android download page provides APK installation files so that users in countries where the Internet is censored can more easily install the privacy-safe browser Firefox, Please submit my question to firefox to try to make it easier for people who can't use Google services to download firefox.,The attached image shows a reminder of censorship when using China's local Internet browser UC to access www.Mozilla.org. Thanks

I have downoloaed Firefox offline installer (a .xz file) from here:

https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/139.0b9/linux-x86_64/en-GB/

I have also downloaded a .asc file, presumably a pgp signature.

Now both files are saved locally in my computer.

Assuming Linux latest release, how do I verify the contents of the offline installer file (.xz) from the Linux Terminal? I have install gpg tools. And commands like ```gpg``` are available.

What I did so far:

 gpg --show-keys --with-fingerprint firefox-139.0b9.tar.xz.asc

with this output:

gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.

Do you really want us to verify the contents of the installers you provide? A sha256 sum would be great, though not as secure, for when the GPG predictably fails for the ordinary user due to its huge and useless complexity and bureaucracy.

Noticed 3 entries for various versions of Firefox in the Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps. There is one Firefox record in the Start menu. 1. I have unistalled all the entries through the Windows Settings, deleted all folders for Moxilla and Firefox, cleaned the registry of every mention of Mozilla or Firefox. 2. Installed newly downloaded Firefox 137.0 three days ago. 3. After today update to v. 137.0.1 - I again have 2 entries in the Settings > Apps > Installed apps: v. 137.0 and v. 137.0.1. The same problem was with Thunderbird. I also cleaned all the folders and the Registry, then fresh installed it again. Thunderbird was not updated, so I don't know if the problem has returned. Maybe something is wrong with the Mozilla installer? What should I do to have just one Mozilla Firefox entry in the Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps after update as it was years before? (My system is: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 English US, Firefox 64-bit English US)

Additional information: I found that the Uninstall registry entries are stored in different hives: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox 137.0 (x64 en-US) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox 137.0.1 (x64 en-US)

How to download some older versions of Firefox for 64 bit windows.

Current version of Firefox has

    (1) popups to get me to download a new version,
    (2) tab pickup,
    (3) popups to show
    article titles,
    (4) popups to show
    current URLs.

I just want to download the install programs until I get the most recent one that has none of (1) - (4).

I need to go back 1, 3, 5, 10 years?

So where on the Internet should I go to get such an old Firefox install program?

I used to really like Firefox, but changes (1) -- (2) have ruined it for me.
