I have a new install of firefox (78.7.1esr) on a new Apple Mac (10.15.7 Catalina). I used sync to sync bookmarks from an ubuntu install (85.0.1) onto the Mac.

The bookmarks arrived. They are visible on the bookmarks toolbar, bookmarks menu, and bookmarks / show all bookmarks. I can add new bookmarks using drag and drop, or by the bookmarks menu options. These bookmarks can be seen in the Bookmarks / Show All Bookmarks menu. But they do not appear in the bookmarks toolbar. It's as if there are 2 sets both started from the same sync.

• Bookmarks added by drag and drop visible through the toolbar
• Those added with add bookmark or show all bookmarks within the toolbar folder do not appear on the toolbar.

I've now got what looks like 2 sets that are drifting out of sync on the same latptop.

My Firefox browser quits unexpectedly several times a week. When I reopen it, I do a session restore and everything works fine. What makes this happen over and over?

The mozilla firefox stop working suddenly on Windows 10, i tried almost everything and i was not being able to fix it. What i did is :

1. Started firefox in safe mode 2. Uninstalled compeletely firefox and then tried to install it, on end of installation was getting the error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000000d) 3. checked about:crashes is not possible because only allow you to write and nothing else happens if you press enter stays as it is

Somehow firefox installed and i am only able to start it on compatible mode, how can i fix the problem and see what it happens?

Running in compatible mode breaks the visual on full screen also.

https://www.nectar.com/ has changed. The log in page is now:- https://www.nectar.com/id/start/enter-card-number The saved password for https://www.nectar.com doesn't appear or work on this page. The automatic 'Saving 'new' password' doesn't appear or work. Deleting and saving the new address https://www.nectar.com/id/start/enter-card-number doesn't work either because Firefox Logins and passwords deletes everything after .com?

Round and round and round we go.

Why is there no way to contact Firefox? Nobody on/in the Community can make the required technical changes?

So this is all just frustration and time wasting?

Shouldn't Firefox have recognised this themselves and made the necessary changes?

I am trying to use netflix on firefox-esr on linux. The documentation said that "Google Widevine CDM" is supposed to be installed automatically (like "OpenH264") but it is not. This module is not installed and can't be find on addons.mozilla.org I can't find nether the option DRM to tick or untick in my settings.

Do you know where I can find this plugin and how to install it please ?

I have cleared all of my history multiple times, and still, when I search something on my Address bar, earlier sites show up. This is especially annoying, as I had cleared my whole history a while ago, so it doesn't take up as much space. Earlier, when I wanted to go on Google (My default search engine is Duck Duck Go, but sometimes i need Google because Duck Duck Go doesn't show what I want), I'd just have to type "g" and press enter. Now when I press "g", it shows "gamingjs.com". How can I get rid of this Website?

Also, even if I type "google", the first suggestion is still "google - Search with DuckDuckGo".

I can't provide a screenshot, as the address bar collapses automatically when I make a screenshot.

Hi, I updated Firefox to the latest version (confirmed). Now whatever I try, it does nothing but private browsing even if I open a new window. Can't find any box to tick in the settings, preferences whatsoever to get it back to normal. Any ideas? Thanks a lot, Jurgen

Netflix, Charles Schwab, others appear to not recognize my device and require two step authentication, every time, but saying now my device is registered and I won't need to do that again. But I do. What do I need to change so that their marker remains without losing all my privacy? Is it a cookie? Do I have to change the Dashboard to no security? Can I do that for just one website at a time?

I have resist fingerprint settings turned on because I use keyboard shortcuts to open specific webpages / notes and I need the pages to be the same size when I launch the new instance of the browser.

but now the browser thinks I am in UTC. I need the browser to report I am in a different time zone, because nextcloud keeps assuming that my browser is telling the truth.

I have an idea which should enhance security within Firefox, specifically to improve the security of Extensions.

It has become clear that many extensions are collecting and selling information about users to tracking and advertizing companies, without the user's knowledge or consent!

In response to learning about this, I started to disable the extensions which I did not need all the time and then "re-activate" them only when I needed to use them. Keeping the active Extensions strictly to essential security minded ones and a few other that I feel I NEED on a very regular basis - or all the time.

This is a bit of a drag and takes time each time I want to use certain extensions, but I now feel that it is necessary - until extensions are PREVENTED from collecting and selling user data!

Today I had an idea which would help and make this "Less of a Drag"!

When I "Disable" an extension, it's icon disaappears from my toolbar and only re-appears when "Re-activated". It would be better if when "Disabled" the Icon STAYED on the tool bar - but "Greyed Out", and with a right click menu with only two items on it - 1) "Re-Activate this extension" and 2) "Remove this extension". It would be useful also for when the extension is "Active" that the Icon has a right click item "Disable this Extension"! - Currently there is only the option to "Remove", which is not what I want to do!

This one relatively small change would allow users who are aware of the dangers, to control potentially "Leaky" but USEFUL extensions. The vast amount of time they would not be ABLE to track and collect users data, which would make what they collect when "Activated" much less useful!

This would be a useful and EFFECTIVE tool against "malware" extensions which are collecting and selling user data. It would be a useful "Stop-Gap" until you get around to actually PREVENTING extensions from doing this!!!!

Ideally extensions should be PREVENTED from having access to or selling any data and should ONLY have access to information that is specifically NEEDED for the functioning of the extension. VERY CLEARLY the very broad designations of the current "Permission" system do not work!!

I hope you take action on this, because it would CERTAINLY help!

I have Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird on my 'work' laptop. Firefox keeps asking for me to link other accounts. I have a personal aol email address. However, when I enter to sync my personal email with my work email, it says, 'Account Already Exists'. Yes, it exists since it is mine!

How do I get this fixed?

Well this problem exists since i first time use firefox (84.0). Problem: Firefox uses 500MB memory with 0 tab, uses more with more tabs This is not a question raised by computer noobs but i am sure that something goes wrong in my computer.
