I'm having some trouble here doing a migration from Outlook 2019. Whether in the latest version or version 31.8, Thunderbird is not finding my Outlook file. Currently, the file is in a non-standard location. Where does it need to be? Will it need to be on the C: drive (which is rather small)? Or can it be found on the D: drive?

I've looked at other means of importing. I tried exporting from Outlook into a CSV file, but Thunderbird does not see all of the columns that were exported. For instance, the email addresses were not in that second column to be paired. That's rather useless.

Another option that came up in the search of previous answers was to export to vCard. It does not appear that I have that option in Export. And individually saving hundreds of contacts as vCards is not a particularly viable option, either.

What would you suggest?

I was told to use mailstore to archive old PST files from 2010 outlook which I no longer use. I used mailstore and archived a PST file (have more PST files to do) but now I do not know what to do to get these onto Thunderbird. It called it "microsoft outlook". I clicked on "run" and it ran successfully but I do not know now what to do to use it in thunderbird. Please help

I need to export a lot of emails from Thunderbird on an old iMac. It seems the import/export tool is not on the version I have so I have a problem. I need to get a plug-in to do this now. However, the version of TB is very old and I'll need a new version of Thunderbird to install the plug-in... So the question is - if I upgrade the old TB I have, will I keep or lose all my old emails? I need a sure answer to this because I can't lose these old messages. I don't want to import them anywhere, I just exported text or html for file storage.

Reading thru this forum I don't have high hopes, it all seems vague and complex (even tho we're now in 2021, no less, and ye olde issues rattle on and on). But a definitive answer would be useful to help me decide what to do. Thanks.

I want to import an old address book formatted as abook.mab by 5-10 year old TBs into current TB address book. The only article I can find on file doesn't appear to be addressed to current software, I can't decipher some of it, and what I do understand doesn't work. Any thoughts?

How to migrate 'Contacts' and 'Addresses from MS-Outlook 2010 to TB? the Thunderbird so-called 'Import' does NOT work.

Attempting to do so merely produces a 'window' that states

   "Addresses successfully imported from Outlook
"No address books were found to import

And, surprise, surprise NO data is made available in TB !!! What is WRONG?

I have followed the instructions located here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer

but still cannot get my new computer to access my email accounts.

Apparently I have missed something with the profile or the proper path for it but I cannot figure out what it is.

Is there another step to take to complete the migration?

I installed TB 91.6.1 on iMac, OSX 11.6.1, and migrated my existing profile in from an older computer. I can download and read incoming messages, read older existing messages, but cannot send. I've checked all the SMTP server settings, which appear correct and match the old installation. There is no error message when I attempt to send email. Nothing at all happens when I click the Send button. If it's a reply, the Send button is grayed out until replacing the recipient in the To: field.

I've also just discovered that my address book dis not port over to v91 as expected.

We use BlueHost for email, and I have had no problems using 78.6.0 on my old MacBook Pro. Wife is using 78.14.0 on another iMac with no issues. No firewall or antivirus software is involved in the new installation.

Any help for this??

Thank you, Carl Thor
