This morning there was an update to Thunderbird. When I reopen the program I can no longer see the right end of the screen. There is no toolbar to scroll over to see that side, and I've been unable to resolve this in the settings. I am using Density > Compact and I do not have any add-ons installed. See screen capture. I will have to stop using TB if this can't be resolved.

I now have two issues, one is that on my IMAP accounts with my own domain, both the recent sent and recent received emails in a thread are showing up twice. This doesn't happen with previous emails in that thread or with gmail, exchange, outlook.com, live.com, icloud, etc.... Now, I have an issue where the pop ups for calendar notifications keep popping up non stop and either won't go away by hitting "Submit to changes anyway" or if they do go away, they immediately pop back up again. 115 is a big disapointment for me, it's been highly glitchy, many add ons no longer, some that should work, don't work properly, it was hyped a major upgrade and I see very little that distinguishes if from 102 in any meaningful way except some of the icons are more colorful. Is there a way to go back to 102? Either that or I may start using Mac Mail again due to all these bugs.

It seems that this guide does not work anymore: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/adding-a-holiday-calendar

The point 5 ("From the Format list, select iCalendar (ICS).") is not there anymore. The wizard shows directly a form where you can enter the "Location", but if you enter the URL of an ICS file, it says "Could not find calendars at this location. Please check your settings."

Is there a different way to add these calendars? (and any other ics calendar you can find on the web)

Thanks

As the subject suggests, is there a way to hide week numbers in the mini month section, shown by the yellow arrow in the image?

Background Colors of the Calendar, not the events on the Calendar

Hello,

I am getting old, my vision is much weaker than it used to be and now I have what is commonly referred to as "Eye Floaters." There's nothing that can be done to fix that, but with dark themes I can usually not see them. Due to a bug (or feature, if you prefer) in the Windows 10 Scaling and Layout settings, once you change them, there's no going back, at least that I have found. Low vision forced me to try to increase the font size in Windows, and in the (seemingly irreversible) process, I set Scaling to 150%. That fixed the problem of text being too small, but it also affected many programs in a negative way. Everything is waaay too big. For example, the menu bar and overall page header in Firefox was massive, taking up nearly a third of the top of my monitor screen. It did the same thing in Chrome only worse. The page footer was almost as big and between the two it left about two inches in the middle to view a website's content. This was very annoying to say the least.

I found a fix for Firefox, by changing the ui.textScaleFactor to 100. However, that did not work for Thunderbird. I found a way to fix it, by going back to Thunderbird 102, and now the email and address book are fine, and the calendar works fine, except for the colors with really bother me. I can't read the screen without looking away to the right of the screen. This is because the colors are too bright, and that is in a dark theme. I don't even want to look at a light theme. It would probably blind me.

Here's what I have. The 1st image is what it looks like, and the 2nd is what I would like to make it look like. Is it possible to do that? Please excuse the low quality color replacement on the 2nd image...

I'm not sure when this started happening but Thunderbird (115.3.1, Linux) is no longer sending email invites to my invitees, even if some of those invitees are on my same host. as "Organizer" I do get an email notice to my personal email, which is the default attendee, with subject "Accepted: testing", and body, "mfoley@novatec-inc.com has accepted your event invitation.", but nothing is sent to the other invitees on the list. I checked the error console which showed these messages after I created the event:

NotFoundError: No such JSWindowActor 'DevToolsFrame' 6

1701371572264 Toolkit.Telemetry WARN TelemetryStorage::_scanArchive - have seen this id before: 9c1e2d46-28f9-430d-86d7-398dd0ad3bdc, overwrite: false

Not sure these apply to creating a calendar event. My server settings are fine, I can send and receive mail to the Thunderbird inbox without problem. I can send email from the Thunderbird client without problem.

Any idea why I can't send event notifications to invitees?

I'm trying to connect Thunderbird to my Mailcow server SOGo Calendar, but it does not work. It's not a typical problem, because SOGo generates for me two CalDAV links to connect this: 1. Link for signed in users (with RW access). 2. Public access link (with RO access). I want to manage my own calendar, so I need first case. Then I go to "Creating new calendar" window in thunderbird, enter public access link just to check, and calendar is connected! But it's not all. Then I go back and paste link number 1, also providing credentials info (I have tried a lot of variants, also "test@example.com:password", "test@example.com" and so on) and after pressing "Next" button I get a typical connect error like "Could not find your server, please check entered info".

I have done a lot of tests and checks, and this is a strange details, that I caught and I think it is a Thunderbird bug (I might be not right)... On my nginx reverse proxy I see such log when Thunderbird is trying to connect by my link with RW access: "my-ip-address - - [04/Jun/2025:23:39:51 +0300] "mail.example.com" "PROPFIND /SOGo/dav/test@example.com/Calendar/personal/ HTTP/1.1" 404 146 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:139.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/139.0.1" "-"". As you can see, my server returned 404 error.

You can think, that problem is on my side and my server is wrong, but please check next nginx log: "my-ip-address - test@example.com [04/Jun/2025:23:38:43 +0300] "mail.example.com" "PROPFIND /SOGo/dav/test@example.com/Calendar/personal/ HTTP/1.1" 207 125 "-" "curl/7.88.1" "-"". It is succeeded, but this is after my manual curl command like "curl -v -X PROPFIND "https://mail.example.com/SOGo/dav/test@example.com/Calendar/personal/"". You can compare two strings from nginx log that I provided and you will see the only difference is second dash in first log instead string "test@example.com" in second log. That piece of log string contains nginx variable $remote_user, and that means that Thunderbird while trying to connect my server calendar do not provide auth credentials and send request without any user that I enter to corresponding field before connect attempt.

P.S. You can ask me why do I test connection just by PROPFIND request type, because Thunderbird tries some different ways to connect too. And I will ask that: 1) Only one succeeded request, by what Thunderbird connects to my public calendar is with type PROPFIND (as I can see in nginx reverse proxy logs); 2) Other attempting ways to connect falls with same error and also do not contain any user, as I explained before.

Please give me feedback about way how I can fix that and thank you very much for your support!

After upgrading Thunderbird client to version 114.4.1 on my Windows 10 computer, I no longer can see events. I am using a CalDAV server on Linux. I believe creating and updating events works on a different Linux client, but not on this Windows 10 client. In my error console I see the message, "Calendar: Could not find definition for Eastern Standard Time". I've read some posts where others had that same time zone issue and fixing that got their events to show up. Unfortunately, they did say how they fixed it. Perhaps that is my problem as well. How do I resolve this error (to start with)?

After adding my nextcloud calendar via CalDAV in Thunderbird 115 (no plugin) I can perfecly add or remove events to the calendar and they get synced well, however, if I receive a notification the button to dismiss them does not do a thing. Sorry if this is a double post, but I only found similar issues with older versions of Thunderbird and a plugin for the calendar.

Dear All,

I'm moving away from proprietary platforms and am setting up Thunderbird to manage my calendars. My calendars are hosted on a Synology and synced via caldav.

Sync seems OK, but interface-wise, I cannot find a way to have my events showing their location, directly from the calendar view (even daily).Clicking on the event, the location shows, but I really need to see them directly from the day or week view (I'm a teacher, so at a glance, I need to know in which class my next lesson is).

Is there a way to set this up, or a feature to be requested?

Many thanks!

Steps: 1. Setup Thunderbird with a CalDAV calendar (in my case I am using Baikal as the back-end). 2. Add (and modify) a bunch of tasks and calendar events to that CalDAV calendar, using Thunderbird and any external CalDAV tool (in my case I am using Tasks.org on my phone).

Expected behavior: The tasks and calendar events would seemlessly sync between Thunderbird and Tasks.org.

Bug:

  • Tasks and calendar events added on the Tasks.org do not end up in Thunderbird.
  • Tasks and calendar events added on Thunderbird, however, do end up on Tasks.org as expected.
  • Tasks and calendar events modified on Tasks.org are not be synchronized to Thunderbird.
  • If a modified, not synced tasks or calendar event would be modified in Thunderbird, the latter prompts ```This item has recently been changed on the server. Submitting your changes will overwrite the changes made on the server.```.
  • Pressing the button "Reload all calendars and synchronize changes" has no effect.
  • Toggling online and offline mode has no effect.

Thunderbird Calendar - Select a calendar

I added a calendar but have no idea how to select that calendar to change color or delete it. How do I select a specific calendar?

Hi,

Someone sends me a calendar appointment for 11th of May at 16:30-18:30 and another at 18:30:20:30. I accept these appointments. In my calendar, they correctly display at these times.

When I close and re-open Thunderbird, the first appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May, but the second is fine. When I close and re-open Thunderbird again, the second appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May as well.

The times are completely different too.

I'm using Thunderbird 138 from the Arch Linux repositories but I've also tried the Flatpak package to no avail. I've tried setting my Timezone manually and using my System timezone to no avail.

GNOME Calendar, which is also synced to my Caldav server, displays the appointments at the correct day and time. The web interface for my mail server also displays correctly.

It's only Thunderbird that screws it up time and time again.

This has been going on for years and it is driving me insane. I can't use my calendar with Thunderbird because I keep thinking my appointments are at the wrong time!

Send help.

In Supernova (i.e. Thunderbird 115 and above), the mini-month calendar shows a little blue dot under every day that has an event on it. See the example screenshot.

If you're like me and you have an event almost every day, then these dots don't really provide any informational content – they're just visual clutter.

There is a way to remove them, using userChrome.css:

   .minimonth-day::after {
       display: none !important;
   }

But obviously that's not so good for users who aren't adept in CSS. Is there a way to remove the dots through a preference, or something in about:config?

Hi,

For some reason, I don't see the calendar subscriptions in the Calendar view. I restarted the app, and I'm at the latest version. I did install an add-on that made things a bit wonky (a markdown plugin, but I'm not sure if that's when the calendar subscriptions disappeared). I uninstalled it. I noticed the problem after I had uninstalled the add-on.

Does this problem seem familiar to anyone? If so, how did you fix it?

Thanks,

L

After moving from Win 10 to Win 11, I exported my TB calendar events on the Win 10 PC, and imported them on the Win 11 PC. Now I can't edit or delete the imported events. The "edit" and "delete" tasks are greyed out.

All help's appreciated
