Hello all:

Just downloaded version 140 and ran into an immediate "visual/appearance" problem with regard to the background color(s) of the sidebar bookmarks view. Many themes now have totally dark sidebar colors and not readable (see screenshot image upload with this posting). I always have my bookmarks (almost 1200 of them) displayed in my sidebar, and this is the first time an issue like this has arisen with a Firefox update.

To remedy this scenario, I must use very light colored themes that have a white background when you bring up the sidebar bookmarks. If not, everything is totally dark and unreadable.

Any ideas or help on this one?

I have a Firefox icon on my Windows11 desktop, Start, and one on the taskbar. If I click one either the Firefox icon on the desktop or Start I will get another icon on the task bar and I can do this over and over on my personal desktop getting many Firefox icons.

I just purchased a new Dell Windows11 desktop and have installed Firefox. I set it up just like my personal desktop and have icons on the desktop, Start, and taskbar but every time I click the Firefox desktop or Start icon I don't get a separate icon in the taskbar but they pile up behind the original Firefox on the taskbar. If the cursor hovers over the Firefox icon then I can see the multiple Firefox homepages that I generated.

I have searched for an answer to this problem but have been unsuccessful. I would really appreciate some thoughts on this issue. Firefox has been my one and only browser for many years and I love it 99% of the time, just not this one time. :-) Thank you in advance. Chuck Hall

Since last update (136?) when I open a page with a video in a new tab, the width of this tab is very small! Almost half my current tab.

(I don't have another example but does this have anything to do with any "media" on a page?)

I have the width set to 152 for years...

When I play a video, the current tab is reduced. Pause= normal tab. Play= small tab. Pause= normal tab...

"browser.tabs.tabMinWidth should have been adhered to."

I just completely reinstalled Firefox: still the same.

What can I do, please?

I was using the following CSS to hide the navigation images and show only text labels on the context menu for the Back, Forward, Reload and Bookmark Page menu options...

It worked up until a couple of versions ago, but something has changed, and my CSS is now broken, and those navigation icons are back.

My context menu now looks like the attached image below.

Any help with showing only text labels on this menu is appreciated.

Firefox used to have my background colors, and on the latest update, my pull-down menu and tabs are robin's-egg blue. I can't figure out how to get my colors back, and I hate that color.

How the hell do I get back control over my colors?

In the latest update I got it made everything into rounded corners. The Tabs and Settings windows as an example. How do I undo that?

I checked thoroughly in the appearance settings and dont see a way to do that. I specifically switched my entire world over to Firefox to get out of the rounded corner UI world only in time for this switch to happen. How do i undo it?

Hello, Since the update on 24 June 2025, bookmarks are displayed in black text on a black background. Is this normal? If not, how can I resolve the issue? I had set it to dark mode, but even when I switched back to light mode, nothing changed. I would appreciate help from the community or Mozilla if anyone has a website address to contact them. I was customizing my background by loading a picture. It's adult in nature. It should be my computer in my in my private home. When something amazing started happening. If I load ANY image with a naked woman on it After a few minutes Fire fox auto removes it. I have done this 30 times. I use ANY fire fox picture it's fine stays there forever. Load ANY picture with a naked woman on it and poof 2 minutes later it's gone. So please can you explain to me why whats claimed to be the most private and secure browser around is censoring me in my own home about what backgrounds I can have? I find this highly disturbing. And I am quite serious I have had them removed at least 30 times. I'm 56 y/o If I want a naked woman on my background it should be my business not fire foxes. Also no chrome is not doing it. neither is windows. It's Firefox removing them. Any explanation would be nice.

I have a vivo pad 3, and when I'm using it in landscape mode, the firefox app would only occupy part of the screen, leaving the two sides empty. It used to work fine and I don't know what made it to behave like this since I didn't touch the settings, and no other app is like this.

Recently my hamburger icon menu (the one that has options like refresh, share etc) broke and all the options are massive. It looks incredibly stupid and is really annoying, is there any way for me to fix it without reinstalling the browser?

I figure this is the best section for asking this question, sorry if it isn't!

I am using a website with text input fields in a dialog box. When I open the dialog box (show_modal()), I see the entire dialog box (Figure 1). When I type in one of the text fields, it automatically enlarges (Figure 2). How can I prevent this?

Hello all,

Ever since an update to Firefox from a few weeks ago, I have been having issues with white backgrounds displaying incorrectly in Firefox. I have attached two identical images from the NYT homepage: the first is a screenshot from Chrome and the second is the same exact image but taken from Firefox.

I have also attached another screenshot taken in Firefox from REI.com. You'll see that it's not necessarily just a white background that is causing the weird blue color. It also happens in products images being displayed incorrectly.

I figured this might be a Firefox website appearance setting, but I have played around with it and selected many different permutations and I haven't been able to solve this issue. I have also tried refreshing Firefox, using Firefox in Safemode, disabling all of my plugins/themes, etc. and nothing was fixed.

I am pretty sure this isn't a system wide issue or a monitor issue because these websites are being displayed 100% correct in Chrome and Edge. This is only an issue in Firefox.

Can someone advise?

Why does Firefox mobile for iOS look different on my iPhone 13 pro max vs my wife's iPhone 12 pro max? both UTD on iOS version. I suspect that I must be missing something in settings, but cannot figure this out. See images below.

On my iPhone 13 Pro Max, the Firefox app has the nice home button, tab button, and hamburger menu button on the bottom (address bar on top both cases). On my wife's iPhone 12 Pro Max, it has the "+" for new tab, the 3 dots instead of hamburger menu, and then the tab button. I much prefer the layout on my phone, as does my wife, but I cannot figure out how to change her layout to match mine.

Any help would be much appreciated!

My monitors are QFD ( 2560 x 1440 ) and I use font scale 125%. With the most recent Firefox these fonts are garbled. They do not display properly. I am using MS Edge for the time being.

Yet again Mozilla have decided that yellow folder icons are not needed and have amended the code so user chrome files no longer work. Is there a new way to return the folder icons to yellow or are we stuck with the black icons with a white frame?

Hallo, ich arbeite gerne mit geöffneter Sidebar und bisher (bis Firefox-Version: 139.0 waren sowohl die Ordner der Sidebar, wie auch die in Ordnern abgelegten Webseiteneinträge immer in weißer Farbe (vor dunklem Hintergrund). Jetzt nach dem Update von Firefox auf Vers.: 140.0 ist der Hintergrund der Sidebar 'dunkelgrau' und die Schrift der Ordner und Webseiteneinträge sind in schwarzer Farbe, sodaß man diese nicht mehr richtig sehen kann; lediglich die Icon's der Webseiteneinträge sind in der entsprechenden Farbe/Logo der Webseite korrekt zu sehen. Liegt das jetzt am Update von Firefox 139.0 auf 140.0 ?? Die Sidebar war bis gestern noch korrekt und lesbar dargestellt !!
