When trying to sync Firefox on my phone, the second step is to go to the menu, and tap sync and save data. However there is no button like that on my android version of Firefox.

Before the update that just dropped, whenever I would open the app, it would open in private browsing by default. After the update it opens a regular non private tab. Any way to fix this?

I launched Firefox the usual way with a private browsing shortcut today and it opened a regular, non-private window. I checked the settings to select again "Add private browsing shortcut" and went in the app drawer to make sure I was tapping the right one. Still, a regular, non-private window. Rebooting the phone did nothing. App is in the latest release version.

Opening a private window is still possible by tapping the mask icon in the initial non-private window or by long pressing the shortcut and choosing New private tab, but that in no way replaces actually launching the browser in private mode as default like the app itself promises and used to do. According to Reddit, I'm not the only one experiencing this.

How software gets updates with such a glaring flaw is beyond me and I can't decide whether it is worse if this is an accident or intentional.

Even though I've never changed my settings aside from the first time I changed them to my preferred settings, for whatever reason, Firefox no longer opens links I tap on in external apps. I changed the settings to do it that way the very first time and it worked fine up until a little while ago. Now, the only way it opens a link in the external app when I tap on it, is if I tap and hold, and then choose that option in the pop-up menu. As I said, in the settings it IS set to open links in external apps, but it doesn't do it anymore.

Everytime I try to save an Image or video file, Firefox on Android just says download failed without explaining how or why.

I've tried clearing the cache. I've tried clearing download and search history. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

I don't know what else to do.

How do I set private browsing as default on android device? Prior suggestions only work on laptop. Nothing here suggests setting as default, I've gone through all the options.

Firefox cann't use microphone in my android 5.1 device. But a camera work perfectly (after confirm allow in a pop-up with asking "if you want to share your device’s camera and microphone with that site.") FireFox detect microfone as "default input device" but it doesn"t work. In a special sites that can test a work of the microphone, drop down list of the detected device (in the Firefox) contains only one item "default input device" and microphone doesn't work. I Made a mistake gerne in my Smartphone with " Firefox!

I took the wrong Language in a mask . It was an "Arabic language", i Font understand.

So my Problem ist now, to take the language " german " / "deutsch" , in a mask which i can't read !!!???

I am trying to import my passwords and bookmarks from Chrome but the instructions available don't work. The menu options don't exist in my firefox as installed on Android tablet and it's my only device- no computer available. I am bedridden so cannot go anywhere to do anything. Chrome is overheating my tablet so I can't use it. I loved Firefox when I had a computer. Is there a way to import these without a separate personal computer?

Every time I bring the app to 0 tabs, the application automatically sends me to the Firefox Nightly for Developers page on the Google Play Store, even after I've checked repeatedly that the application is its most recent version. This began WITH a prompt to update, which I found to be normal, but now it will not cease!

Firefox android provides no master password/primary password protection so passwords in the Firefox password manager are protected only by your lockscreen swipe(yeah, I thought the same thing you just thought).

I need full protection like on Desktop or I can't sync my passwords to Firefox. However, when temporarily enabling password sync on desktop, for example between two desktop devices it also temporarily enables it on android Firefox that you might have synced as well. The upshot of this for me is that I now have all my passwords on android without wanting them there for the above reasons.

So, how do I remove all passwords on my firefox android, without having to reinstall Firefox on the phone?
