Hallo, ich habe noch eine alte Version von Thunderbird 31.2.0 auf dem Release Kanal. Dort steht das ich die aktuelle Version habe. Kann ich einfach auf die neuste Version 136.0 runterladen und damit umsteigen? Behalte ich dann aber auch meine Konten und alle Mails? Danke und Grüße von einem alten Mann

I was not able to use the "transfer profiles" feature when I upgraded from a Windows 10 to Windows 11 machine. I think I might have made a mistake..... On the old machine, it seemed like the email was always there when I opened the program. On the new machine, it looks like it downloads all the email every time I open the program. I can't find the setting I might have set up wrong.

I turned my laptop on this morning and Thunderbird disapeared! It looks as though an auto update failed after the .exe file etc had been deleted. How can I re-instal (via my desktop if necessary which I am on here) without losing all my settings. The profile appears to be intact. Having re-installed, how do I connect to the profile which is on a separate disk?

The last update did something to my search bar. I still have it, but when I click on it, it moves to the upper left corner, prevents me from seeing my tabs, bookmarks etc. How can I disable this annoying change? If someone has the answer, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have followed the instructions, 'How to move Thunderbird data to another computer' and all seemed to work well copying from old computer (Win10) until I came to save to a USB drive to Paste into the new computer (Win11). I then got an error message indicating: Inbox too large -9.02GB nstmp too large - 4.5GB Sent too large - 7.3GB

I am not sure whether all my accounts were being moved or just the most-used one which is probably the source of the error message.

Is there a way to copy the files mentioned seperately and the paste them into the new installation after deleting the content before going through the procedure again? It does look as though the process failed as following the paste, there are no accounts in the Win11 computer, just the basic install 'awaiting setup'. You may have another solution - hope so - and thanks in advance.

I recently donated to TBird but it is unable to send any emails. So I uninstalled it and tried to download a fresh copy but I couldn't avoid the donating page. I paid again but I just get a page telling me to finish downloading - but not how to do so. I've waited half an hour but nothing has been downloaded. If it's still possible to download TBird, how can I do it - preferably without repeatedly paying?

Is there an alternative client I can import my Tbird data to?

I have had zero luck fixing constant crashing of Tbird and it is not providing any crash reports. It just says (Not Responding) and I can close but no restart without using task manager to kill the background process.

I cannot work like that so need something else.

I got GREAT instructions from "David" just a few minutes after posting my question (Thanks, much, David : ). I followed his directions and was able to transfer LOTS of emails to a second computer. But the emails are from 2020-2021. The computer I copied the roaming file from goes up to today, 11/29/2024. How can I a get all the emails from 2021 up to 2024 installed on the second computer? SMTP settings for MYFAIRPOINT.NET (Server Name, Port, Security, Authentication). I have now spent 5 hours and cannot get Thunderbird to send a message through Myfairpoint.net. It used to work for years with no problem. My inbox with IMAP is working just fine.

I am still using Thunderbird release 78.6.0 (32 bit), (Dec 2020) on my HP/Windows 10. I would like to update, and I've copied profile, but I am worried about any difficulties. I was reluctant to update over the years because online I read about crashes and not getting the email program to work again. Or having to reload manually every contact or other issues that would be so tedious that I didn’t want to engage with the update process. If I can update slowly from one version to the next without problems, that’s fine. I would look forward to some improvements in the available formatting options but otherwise I really don’t care about integrated extensions or features. I mostly interested in the formatting that is available in Outlook. Thank you, KathyO

Is there a set of instructions I can use to help me sort out login and settings problems. A wizard would be ideal but I am not starting from scratch, I just want to fix up errors I may have caused by changing settings on my accounts in order to overcome problems which have occurred recently. My original emails were with TPG who got taken over by the Message company. I had an idea that oauth2 was possibly involved in the problem, so I havechanged settings and now don't know how to fix it. Every time I open Firefox recently, and the Yahoo.com web page starts up, I get an annoying prompt from global privacy control, that asks to allow or not allow. IT'S ANNOYING. I went into the settings for that apparent add on feature, that I DIDN'T add, and set all 5 settings to FALSE, but the program still pops up. It ALSO screws up the format of the Firefox web page, and shows the Yahoo News feed totally different and it's also VERY ANNOYING HOW do I totally get rid of the global privacy control? I can select the Firefox settings under security to tell web pages to not sell the info, as far as I know, correct, so I don't need the retarded global add on? ?? I want Firefox news feed like it was before the update. Thank you very much... HOPEFULLY!
