Hey there. Hope you're all doing just fine.

TL;DR Tried moving all my email messages from GMail to Infomaniak. Worked fine because I can see all my old GMail messages now on my Infomaniak Inbox using Thunderbird on my PC. But my phone refuses to show me the latest messages. It only shows me messages from 2025. --- Now with a lot more detail. I use Thunderbird as my email client of choice on both my Android phone and on my Linux (Manjaro) PC. TB on the PC is running 140.8.1esr 64 bit flatpak installed. TB on my phone reads 16.1 and has been installed from the github repository using Obtainium. I use IMAP for receiving and SMTP for sending. No POP3.

I have two email accounts. One at GMail and another at Infomaniak. Up until recently, I've only had the GMail account set up on both my phone and PC. I've been using Infomaniak as webmail just for testing. But recently I've decided to add Infomaniak's to both my Thunderbirds and move all my emails from GMail to Infomaniak. I used Google Takeout to download the mbox files (inbox, archive and sent), then using my PC I loaded the mbox files in my "Local Files" and finally I moved the messages to my Infomaniak correct IMAP folders.

It all looks just fine in my Linux PC. But on my phone I can only see messages from 2025 on my inbox. And I have many messages from 2026. I can see them using TB on my PC, or via the webmail. They just won't show on my phone.

EDIT: It only shows me messages from 2025 and prior to that. But it doesn't show me all messages from 2025. Many messages from 2025 are also missing. And from previous years too. This is not happening on the inbox folder only. It is also happening on all the other folders too. It's as if TB was filtering the messages. It's driving me nuts.

I've already tried clearing TB's data and import my settings. Still only have messages from 2025. What could be going on with Tbird on my phone?? Thanks in advance. Cheers

Successful OAuth2 login doesn't auto-return to Thunderbird Android; app remains logged in as if in browser

Hello everyone,

Summary: I am trying to set up my gmail account on my new phone, but after (what appears to be) successfully logging in, the Thunderbird for Android application does not pull me back out of gmail. Instead, I remain logged in to my gmail account as if in a browser. As you can see from my photos, it takes me to the point where I am truly into my gmail inbox, but I am checking it as if in some sort of outdated browser and not as if in Thunderbird. I am stuck; sitting in my gmail account, logged in; able to view email, check and change account settings, even get onto other parts of my google account. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to get back out of my gmail account that returns me to the Thunderbird for Android accounts setup process with a successfully login to gmail. I end up having to hit exit or to close the app, which causes the account setup to fail.

Expected Behavior: Open the Thunderbird for Android App. Setup new account (gmail which produces an automatically detected OAuth 2.0 method). Give login credentials, gain access to gmail, and then be auto-redirected back to accounts setup process in Thunderbird for Android with full IMAP + SMTP access to my gmail.

Problematic Behavior: Same as above, except I am stuck as if in browser mode. When I exit and thus am returned back to the accounts setup page, I receive a failed notice (see photo). Immediately afterward, I tried to setup an account for the same gmail address on an old android phone and successfully logged in as expected. How do I get back to the main accounts dialog with a success?

Notes: The new phone is a linux-based phone (Furilabs FLX1s) on which I have found Android apps to function without hiccup. It seems like In fact, the Thunderbird for Android app itself seems to function fine. It doesn't crash. It allows me to navigate through the app menus flawlessly.

Thanks for the help!

I believe I found a bug. When drafting an email and switching away from Thunderbird the draft email gets sent but still remains in the drafts folder.

I created two emails today and had to switch away multiple times to get some information to paste into the emails. Thunderbird evidently sent out the draft in its current format whenever I switched away from the app.

I'm using Thunderbird on my Chromebook. I can't use the pointer to open the "more options" menu (the three dots) in the email to get to forward and other options. Hovering over the dots shows the "More Options" message, but clicking does not open the menu. I have a touch screen chromebook and discovered that I can touch the three buttons and it opens. Once the menu is opened, the mouse pointer works to select forward and the other options.

I like very much Thunderbird very much, but I had to move recently to use an Android device, that is my main computer now. I normally work with four email accounts, and I sometimes need to move emails across different accounts. I found out that it is not working on the mobile app. Are there any plans to include this functionality in Thunderbird? Thank you very much.

Any chance in a standalone Thunderbird calendar application to be put into works and have the possibility to be made for Android now that Thunderbird is available on Android as well, as I think it would be really great if I could have the benefits of both the Thunderbird email client and Thunderbird Calendar at the same time which would rival against other apps like Proton Calendar and Tuta Calendar.

It could then be featured on places like:

https://www.privacyguides.org/en/calendar/

https://privacypack.org/

Which would then hopefully increase the amount of people that use Thunderbird products.

Thanks for all the hard work the dev team has done for the Thunderbird email client for Android as i am really grateful for it as I use it as a gmail replacement until Thunderbird Pro is available to get a Thundermail email address, but I noticed a gap in the market for a standalone Thunderbird calendar app for Android and I think it would be a massive missed opportunity!

Hi, I seem to be missing the send button in the Android app. (I do know that it's supposed to be the regtangular shape). When I compose a simple e-mail it is there. But when I want to reply a longer e-mail, it is missing sometimes. For now, I have found no pattern for when it is there and when it's not. I can't click on Alt or anything, since it's on a smart phone.

I have a visual impairment. Iwould like to use Thunderbird for Android but after installation AND BEFORE CONFIGURING ANY EMAIL ACCOUNT, I need to play with it (specially settings), so I can check whether I can use it or not. Things like font size, theme and colors are crucial. But Thunderbird does not allow this. It requires an email account. It is a bit ridiculous, I don-t even know if I'll be able to use it!!!

Can anyone please help?

Thank you so much.

In Android Thunderbird version 18.0, embedded photos from my webcam are no longer immediately visible within the HTML email view and integrated into the message. Instead, they are now displayed as attachments. In all other clients, as well as in Thunderbird for Desktop, everything still works as expected. It also worked correctly in previous versions. With version 18.0, without any changes to the settings, this behavior has changed.

This is incredibly annoying and makes it practically unusable. Is there a solution, and is this recognized as a bug or intended as a security feature? If it is the latter, I kindly request that it be made configurable in the settings.
