After a re-start, my Firefox browser on a Dell laptop lost all history and has since also not been collecting websites visited. When opening a new tab, the shortcuts and recently visited websites are also gone and no longer being collected. My CCleaner recently updated itself to a new version but I unchecked the delete history for Firefox (which treacherously is clicked by default - I fell into that trap before). Happy to blame the new CCleaner but that would not explain why history is not being collected now - to me the fault seems to lie with Firefox instead. Another possibility that went through my mind: Is Microsoft sabotaging users of Windows 11 to force them to buy new? PS: Under "Privacy", "History", the setting is "Firefox will remember history", as it always has been and should be. But it has forgotten all previous history and it is no longer collecting any new history either!

I noticed that the "recently closed tabs" hustory remains available even after quitting firefox, when quitting should erase history.

This is counterintuitive. I would like quitting to clear also the recently closed tabs.

Would you like to consider this for the next version update?

Recently, after I manually delete selected pages on Firefox browser History, those pages keep coming back in History after I close and then reopen Firefox browser. I have not changed any settings. This just started a few days ago. I have always manually deleted History and/or selected pages and not had this problem before. Thanks for your assistance.

Restore previous session, in history, is an important setting. It has now disappeared completely as an option even though restore windows and tabs is ticked. Need to go deeper than the superficial help .

Firefox keeps restoring deleted history on my cell phone.This option is not available to me in settings: To prevent Firefox from restoring deleted history after a closure or crash, disable the "Open previous windows and tabs" setting in Settings > General under the Startup section. Also, about:config does not work on my cell phone.

I have tried to resolve by changing settings in HTTPS ONLY, DNS over HTTPS and Enhanced Tracking Protection from strict to standard to strict and now custom blocking everything as well as all third party cookies.

the only thing I haven't tried is reinstall I have a lot of different bookmark collection and it's a pain to replace them

Mine was set to -1, I changed it to 0

But did not fix issue

The latest update severely broke the app. At random, tabs will suddenly go back one, two, sometimes even several steps back in their history, and it is impossible to go back forward to where I was; the "forward" button is grayed out and it's like I never left the page I was suddenly thrown back to for no reason.

This can happen right after following a link, or it can happen several seconds after a page has fully loaded. When this happens, sometimes trying to follow _any_ link sends Firefox back to the same page until the app is forcefully killed and restarted.

Other people have described identical experiences in the Android reviews. Please revert the latest update. It's unusable. I have to go back to Chrome for the first time in over a decade.

I have tried disabling all extensions, and the problem persists.
