Hello,

I run Thunderbird 146.01 under Windows 11 Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631... TB pulls messages from a POP Server.

Though I have tried many fixes TB keeps reverting to requiring that I manually run both Spam Sorting, and Filter Sorting, usually after running these functions automatically for about a week.

Might someone suggest a fix that will have some lasting benefit?

When I try and "Compact" my trash folder, I get the following error message: "The folder 'Trash on redacted@gmail.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again."

There is plenty of disk space, but there is no option for "write privileges". The trash folder has grown to 632 MgB even though I keep deleting old messages from the trash folder!

I just downloaded Thunderbird because Outlook is doing a bad job or preventing on these junk emails and I'm wasting too much time sifting through all the junk emails every hour. Now I have Thunderbird and I don't see an option to mark an email that is in my junk folder as not junk.

Is there an easier way to block unwante senders than the extra effort to create a filter ? It seems there should be an easy way to "Choose or Apply a Block to a specific email sender by simply clicking on a "BLOCK" link to prevent that sender from sending unwanted emails(not just that email)

I have previously been able to view my trash folder and either empty or keep messages. My trash folder now has nothing in it, ever. Where is my trash going and why can I no longer see it?

How does one take away many entries in Trash with one sweep instead of one by one? I was able to do this before my marking all of the items and then clicking CTRL and X, but that no longer works.

Why do I keep getting these? See image.

Hi. Somehow, in Thunderbird Mail, I moved the "Bulk" folder into the "Trash" folder and now I can't reverse that. Some of my mail is going to the "Bulk" folder and I'm forgetting to check that, thus missing emails. Is there a way to move that "Bulk" folder back where it belongs? thanks in advance

Hi. Awhile back alot of stuff was going to Spam that shouldn't have, never did before and it was frustrating. It just started out of the blue. I have a few email addresses and it happened to all of them.

Then I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that the spam folders have disappeared. Don't know why. Of all things, I want my spam folders back so I can see if I'm missing something important. If I don't have spam folders, and I'm getting false spams, where are they?

Did TB delete my spam folders in some update?

I am running Thunderbird 140.6.0esr on a Windows 10 desktop PC. Yesterday I was accessing my inbox and had a problem. I marked a message as Junk in the message bar. My virus software, TotalAV, flashed up a Red message box say HTML issue - Junk. Following that Thunderbird gave a message saying Junk folder full and greyed out the button on the Message bar. Then the Junk folder disappeared from my folder list and now pressing Junk for a message causes no action. Before the Junk folder disappeared it had 2 unread messages.

My Junk settings say "Junk" folder on: my account name.

I do not know how to proceed. Please help.

Some time ago I found a way to make Thunderbird mark Junk emails as [SPAM] but still to deliver them to my Inbox rather than to the SPAM folder. I need to do this on a new PC, but I can't remember how I did it!

I have recently started using Thunderbird as my email account. I have two email accounts and the first account has a Spam Folder but the second account doesn't. I tried adding a Spam Folder but it will not allow me to do so. Would like to understand why that is.

For about a month or more I can right-click on a spam message, select Mark as Spam and the message disappears to the Spam folder as expected. But, two days later a message from the same sender comes into my mail. This used to work very well but not now. I am using SpamAssassin. Items that match a manual add stay in my IN folder but are marked in the text as suspected spam - they are not moved automatically until I open them up. Spam filtering is broken.

the erroneous "JUNK" folder appeared correctly as "SPAM" very briefly before being changed back to "JUNK" - how can I Reserect the "SPAM" name - best option will be to allow each user to change the SPAM folder to another name if wanted I just want the spam folder to be the spam folder

Is there a way to turn off junk and/or spam folders? I have tried putting spam and/or junk folder in trash but it respawns every time. There are messages going to both spam and junk and it's annoying to have to check and empty each one separately. This is the desktop app on a Windows 10 OS. Thx

Oy! If it isn't one thing, it's another:

Before this latest update (earlier this week), when I right-clicked on my Spam folder (int left column of the screen), the drop-down box would open. Then when I left-clicked "Empty Spam", all of the Spam folder messages were *permanently deleted.*

But now? They go into Trash and I cannot figure out a way to change this behavior. I should not have to select all the spam messages and then click <Ctrl> to get rid of them, it should happen when I click "Empty Spam."

How do I solve this/is there anybody there who can fix this?
