Hi,

since updating Thunderbird (Fedora 36) to 102.2.1 (from thunderbird-91.12.0-1.fc36.x86_64), my personal calendar, hosted on Google Calendar, has started to have sync issues, with now being empty, without error message. Re-starting Thunderbird, synchronizing or hiding/re-showing the calendar (which helped in the past) doesn't help in any way.

I couldn't find a corresponding bugzilla and wanted to hear if it's a generic issue and how to proceed with debugging.

I've even removed the calendar re-add it, Thunderbird discovers my calendars properly, using gmail.com as location and my corporate e-mail as login.

During first synchronization, I get a bunch of

``` 10:21:43.099 Calendar: Invalid alarm for item: 1-0-5e276357f7219c00016e1645 (BEGIN:VALARM
TRIGGER:PT15M
END:VALARM
) exception: [Exception... "Illegal value" nsresult: "0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE)" location: "JS frame :: resource:///modules/CalAlarm.jsm :: set icalComponent :: line 499" data: no] calItemBase.js:953 ```
And then:
``` 10:21:56.614 REPORThttps://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/myuser@acme.com/events/ [HTTP/2 403 Forbidden 53ms]

10:21:56.679 REPORThttps://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/myuser@acme.com/events/ [HTTP/2 403 Forbidden 55ms]

REPORT https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/myuser%40acme.com/events/ Status 403 Forbidden VersionHTTP/2 Transferred541 B (65 B size)

10:21:56.780 uncaught exception: [calCachedCalendar] replay action failed: <unknown>, uri=https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/myuser%40acme.com/events/, result=2147500037, operation=[xpconnect wrapped calIOperation] ```

But then, other (group) calendars using the same account sync without issue.

Thanks, Eric

PS: on the bright side, Thunderbird uses a lot less CPU cycles. Very appreciated.

Recently there was an automatic update of Thunderbird to 102.2.2 (64-bits). Now I can't use the add-ons 'Category Manager', 'Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV' and 'TbSync' anymore because they are not compatible. They are for Thunderbird 91.0a1 - 99.0. I have a few questions regarding this matter: 1. Can I stop the automatic update of Thunderbird? How do I do that? 2. Can I downgrade Thunderbird from 102.2.2 to Thunderbird 99? A. I suppose I have to backup my profile folder. Download and install the version of Thunderbird 99 from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/99.0b2/win64/nl/ (and than the dutch .exe file) B. Import the backup of my profile folder But: I'm not sure about these procedure. Do I have to remove Thunderbird 102.2.2 first? Is this correct and can I use the add-ons again. Or do I miss something?

Thanks in advance.

I eased into first v102 with no problems, and I think the one that you had automatically overwritten was 102.1.0 that now wants to auto update to 102.2.2 but tells me it can not find 90 folders. (If it was the one that I used last time, why would the folders suddenly be "lost"? Later I realized that your procedure had apparently overwritten the version that was having no problems)

I sampled a couple and apparently all 90 of the folders are there and have contents, but I do not know how to follow the advice, which was something like 'make sure they are there then <the part I do not understand so don't know what to do>.

WhenEVER I figure out what to do, I will have to do it 90 times apparently. That is going to be a royal waste of time, when what I really need to do right now is move emails out of GMail and Hotmail because my space on their servers is getting very tight. So of course NOW is when I have to hit this snag! Many of those can't-be-found folders are where I need to move emails to, but, in the words of Murphy's Law or maybe one of its corollaries, "Whatever you want to do, you have to do something else first."

This time noodling around I found the "Before moving from 91 to 102" advice, but only after getting to the point of "Restart to upgrade to 102.2.2," so I have no way to postpone the current update.

THEN I decided to make a duplicate copy of whatever version opened tonight, in order to see if I can open it without having to submit to automatic upgrade, which caused the problem. but it now shows 102.2.2. It has apparently overwritten whatever was there before; it's not in the trash, so I can't go back to whatever was there in order to back up items before making the upgrade. (Hint: make safe upgrade steps available BEFORE forcing an automatic upgrade. (When you want to force an automatic upgrade, supply cautionary advice before writing the code to be automatic

Oh, wait! I DID keep a backup install file for 102.1.0. (I had figured out to do that when I had problems makig the transition to the first or second three-digit version, since that was when I learned that often you force these upgrades without sufficient preparation for us common folk.) But there's no way I can run it to find and back up profile and files before your automatic process overwrites it again.

I have spent an extra hour and need to go to sleep. Therefore I will quit Thunderbird and obviously will have to hassle with this all over again, especially since it is now Sunday and I doubt that there will be any extensive help for another 30 or more hours.

I have 3042 *.msf files going back to 03/22/2010. I hope I never have to go back to 2013 to check on what I did or did not do in those files. Using Thunderbird 102.2.2, Windows 10 with mail server on Ionos.com using an 8800L Verizon jetpack I get pop ups when I want to quit TB saying TB not responding. Could it be *.msf files are taking up space? Also I think there should be a warning, unless I missed it, when deleting Thunderbird 102.2.2 other day thinking it might help doing a reload so Thunderbird will respond I see where I lost all my junk mails to block. All gone. Looks like I am going to have to start over blocking them. If there is something that will cause something else to occur with deleting *msf files please let me know. Thanks

I have tried everything that the Forums suggest but to no avail, even checking my AV isn't blocking things. It's all very well TB automatically blanking these images, but where is the control that allows us to overide it?!! This is getting very frustrating! If it can't/wont be fixed soon, then I'll have no option but to change my support for another email app. I can "Select All" in an email, copy & paste it to a Word Processor App like Textmaker and everything appears including images! So why not show them in the B***** emails?!!

How to BLOCK systemtimezone detection in Firefox? Can this be done with firefox or with the operatingsystem itself? After all i know for a fact that the bromite android browser has this feature and it works. I noticed that disabling javascript blocks systemtimedetection, but it also basically renders the browsers useless for my purposes.. are there specific javascript config settings regarding systemtimezone detection? I really feel that when a website spys on my systemtimezone this is a breach of privacy as this goes beyond the browsers im using to view the website but instead directly access information about my system, im not ok with that... Using a virtualmachine just to fake systemtimezone cannot be the solution, this is ridiculous.

By the way, i hope Mozilla won't let down support for Manivest v2 ever, there is a chance firefox will gain a boost in users after google pushing Manivest v3 that hard... making adblock useless, what a shame.
