Yesterday, my ameritech.net email stopped working in Thunderbird. I get an error saying it's unable to log into the server. The email account works from outlook, and from a web browser, so I know I'm using the right password. I've tried it on more than one computer and it's only Thunderbird that is having the problem. It's working with my gmail account. Any help would be appreciated.

Every time I open thunderbird I get a blank screen with this message, 'Edge: Too many requests' over the top of the thunderbird screen. This screen stays on my desktop after I close Thunderbird and I have to change my screen resolution in order to close the screen. Can you help please? Martyn Smith

I have been using Thunderbird to download my mail from Yahoo for a long time without incident. Now I keep getting the message "Edge: Too Many Requests" as a response when trying to download my email messages (see attached file). I waited 24 hours and then tried again but still get the same message. I am able to log on to Yahoo on my desktop and see my mail without a problem. Is there something that needs to be cleared or reset in Thunderbird? My other email accounts in Thunderbird work fine. Any ideas would be helpful.

hello Suddenly 2 days ago, when opening Thunderbird, I have a message saying : the connection from the server imap failed with the user name name@neuf.fr I tried twice to re-install Thunderbird and I also tried twice to change my password : neither was successfull But when I go to internet on the sfr mail site, the connection is successful... Have used Thunderbird for years and 2 years ago, my Cox service eliminated supporting their own emails server and now Yahoo supports. I am having a problem over the past 2 weeks where I click on my Thunderbird app to load the program and get emails, and it times out after about a minute every time I try to log in. I have deleted the Thunderbird account and tried to add a new account, and it continues to time out every time.

What am I doing wrong?

I just downloaded Thunderbird and trying to setup my existing email. It keeps giving me the message "Unable to log into server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password. I just logged into my email on yahoo and the user name and password worked fine.

Here is a message I receive when I try to send email from my Hotmail account in Thunderbird.

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: Cannot connect to SMTP server 52.96.165.242 (52.96.165.242:587), connect error 10060.

When attempting to access my emails on Mozilla Thunderbird i am met with a text box prompting me for my password, when I enter the password it informs me that is it unable to connect to the server. following guides online for similair issues it encourages you to change your authentication to "Oauth2" however this option does not appear for me and all relevant responses on here are in regards to microsoft accounts whilst my account is from a custom domain. Any help would be appreciated as it is a great inconvenience to not have access to my email.

A search showed that others have experienced this same error message, but as far as I can tell, they all were unable to access their email. These messages began appearing about a month ago. They pop up in Troubleshooting Mode. They did not in Windows Safe Mode. AVG and ZoneAlarm are not the culprits.

maybe once per day, sometimes more or less, i get the 'login to server failed' with the option to retry. the retry always works, usually the first time, but sometimes requires another retry. this apparently started happening after an update, because it never happened before a few months ago. i figured another update would fix the issue, but nothing has changed yet. j

is there a retry setting somewhere that i'm missing?

Thunderbird Version 140.4.0esr on Win10/64 on Thursday 10/30 stopped downloading from DigitalSpace... does not connect to server. Suspect DS problem?

T-bird shows "old server" refuses connection. NEW server info shows on attached images T-bird does not recognize as a "valid server".

DigitalSpace impossible to contact. Any help gratefully appreciated.

Until last month, Thunderbird never had any issue connecting to GMAIL accounts to send and receive messages. Suddenly, there is a bug and Thunderbird is not sending or receiving emails from GMAIL. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also, with the current version of Thunderbird, there is no way to insure that I am receiving updates and have the most current version. I have used Thunderbird for decades and it is now very buggy, and getting more difficult to use! - Mark Robbins

I am using Thunderbird with an IMAP account. My quota for my inbox, as indicated in the lower right, is 98%. If I log in to my provider's webmail the quota stated is 2%. How do I fix this mismatch?

I have relatively few emails in my Inbox, Sent, Trash, Draft etc folders. Deleted folder has been emptied. Folders have been compacted a number of times. Thunderbird has been closed and reopened. I have checked with my provider, names.co.uk, and they confirm that my current usage is 2%. They pin the blame on Thunderbird.

I have searched online and whilst this does appear to be a fairly common problem, I have not found a solution.

I have tried moving all but the few latest emails to Local Folder, going through the usual deletion, empty deleted, compact folders, restart etc. and can only lower the percentage a small amount in Thunderbird, and it soon rises again to 98%. And it's very inconvenient not to have recent emails still in my Inbox.

Can anybody help with a solution, please?

Im struggling with adding second email account in the freshly downloaded Thunderbird on new PC. I tested on multiple PCs and the errors keeps repeating. It says the login information are incorrect but I know for sure they are correct. Exchange auth error it says. After multiple login tries the app just freezes and stop responding.

The first email account added is working fine. Thunderbird version 144.0.1. Windows 11
