Hello, have been scratching my head for a while on this one. Have a freshly setup install of Debian 12, using Sway (wayland) as my Window Manager. I am really struggling with slowness in Firefox, page loads take easily 15 seconds whereas loading the exact same page in another window at the same time with Chromium Debian build has near instantaneous load times. I've tried the following troubleshooting steps: - Created a new firefox profile - Tried "Troubleshooting Mode" in Firefox - Disabled ipv6 in firefox about:config and in Debian - Tried different DNS servers - Tried different non-debian specific builds of Firefox - Tried Firefox Beta and Firefox Nightly for Debian

None of these steps made any difference, and Chromium has continued to be significantly faster. Am really stuck here and would love to get to the bottom of this as Firefox is the only browser that works with a HiDPI display in Sway without blurryness. Happy to provide any and all diagnostics and reports that are needed. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: It seems to be some kind of networking issue, using a VPN solves it. But still doesn't explain why Chromium would behave differently.

Whenever I open the find bar while deleting the phrases and words, it shows the one word highlighted or its phrase highlighted on the find bar whenever I reopen after deleting the phrases and words. I need help for this ?

Just within the past few days, Firefox no longer allows me desktop computer access to my email account with wowway.com. However, both Chrome and Edge do. WOW's customer support person said that Firefox is causing the problem. I really like Firefox and hope that this issue can be resolved. Thank you. Clare Abt

If they are not signed, it will send smoothly even if they are encrypted.

For past 24 hours only, I have been unable to open email attachments. v115.7.0, however last update was 31/01 and has worked perfectly until now. Still use Windows 10.

Double clicking on attachments does nothing, other than popup software option for formats without specified defaults. Either way, no indication that attachment is opening.

"Save as" is saving attachment document to target folder, however trying to open these errors, suggesting document is corrupted or in incorrect format.

Have tried restarting system to no effect; likewise error continuing in troubleshoot mode. Cannot see any obvious settings that would impact this, nor have I consciously altered any of these.

I'm certain this may be an easy fix, or my own error, but this is eluding me.

Firefox keeps crashing randomly, sometimes at startup, and sometimes just in the middle of a session. Sometimes just one tab will crash, and other times it'll be the entire browser. I ran it in troubleshoot mode and it still crashed, so it's not caused by an extension or anything. It never used to do this before and I don't understand what's causing this issue.

Firefox has been a great browser on my new S22 however I have noticed recently that it has been dropping my battery percentage extremely fast, and I notice its lower almost every minute I check. This is confirmed in the battery settings menu where it shows an abnormally high amount of usage, when I mainly use Firefox for general browsing and close background tabs.

I have been using Thunderbird for years to access several @charter.net email addresses, lately administrated at Spectrum, which took over Charter. Everything was working normally until today. I can still receive emails, but when I send, I get an error message asking for a password: "password required for outgoing SMPT server" Manually entering a password in that error message box doesn't help. Spectrum support is not helpful beyond confirming that my email sends and receives normally as long as I access it on their website. Three clues: 1) Spectrum recently announced "new and improved" email. 2) One customer service person described my email addresses as "legacy". 3) My gmail address sends and receives just fine from Thunderbird as usual. For months, I've experienced the Bookmarks menu collapsing (Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, and Other Bookmarks headings appear but all bookmarks are just gone) and locking up (those headings cannot be opened and closed).

I have finally noticed that this happens when I am using Windows File Explorer to drag and drop files into my Google Drive opened with an entirely separate Google Chrome browser running concurrently with Firefox.

To be clear, I have Google Chrome and Explorer at the top of my desktop, with Firefox running behind them. When I drag a file from Windows Explorer over to the Google Chrome browser, the side bookmarks window in Firefox goes haywire. Close and reopening the bookmarks menu brings it back, but the issue remains.

For a while now, several bank credit card sites are not working correctly when I use my Firefox browser. It did in the past and I didn't have any problems but lately I'm having these problems happening on sites I've used for years. If I use another browser it will work with no problem. In fact after talking with some of the support people at some of the sites that won't work, the suggest trying another browser which works fine. I'm talking like American Express' website which I use a lot. There are other sites other than credit cards that are not working correctly and again, their support agent will tell me to use another browser. I have tried different remedies like clearing cache, history, etc. I only use few addons like AdBlock which helps to cut down on trackers and information gathers. I have set my preferences to clear out my history and cookies. I have used Firefox for so many years without problems and with the same addons without any problems. So what is causing this to happen? I do enjoy using Firefox but if I have to keep changing over to another browser so sites will work, then maybe it's time for me to stop using Firefox.

Every time I do something Google-related in my Firefox browser the tab crashes. It does the same whether it is the search engine, Google drive, G-mail, etc... I already ensured my browser is updated, to no avail.
