Message Pane has become blank

I was being nagged to update Thunderbird so did so via download & install as instructed (there was a message 'we will guide you through the update'). That did not ha… (funda kabanzi)

I was being nagged to update Thunderbird so did so via download & install as instructed (there was a message 'we will guide you through the update'). That did not happen but I installed 102.2.2 Everything seemed fine except the message pane in lower half of screen is now blank even when I click on an email in the list above. Have tried 'repair' but that had no effect. This is irritating, as the only way I can read my remails is to right click on one and select 'reply' or 'forward' ... it then appears as a new reply and I can see it. But in the upper pane that email rema\ins in bold, ie, unread. I am still getting reminders to upgrade even though 'About Thunderbird' indicates I have the latest version. Hope you can help with this!

Been using Tbird for forever.

I have a odd setup of accounts. A bunch of accounts that are each one email address. No problem.

And then one LOCAL folder for a bunch of personal email addresses (eg, xxx@mindspring and xxx@earthlink.net combined into one Tbird "account" -- and and a few more email addresses too). This setup has worked fine for years.

BUT, then I upgraded to V115.

All my history in Inbox, Sent, etc, etc. is LOST for Local.

Why? (Honestly, I don't care about THAT so much ... see next question).

How do I get that history BACK??? In those subfolders? If you need it, I can list all the subfolders I use (pretty good guess).

I have TWO profiles apparently. Not clear to me if the install chose the wrong one. Plus a profiles.ini file in the Thunderbird Library folder.

Under Crash Reports: I have an Install Time item for Sept 6 - probably when I installed V115. Useful??

Where do I start?

Thunderbird emails

I had a huge problem with M Outlook. In addition it has locked me out of my Office 365 package and I'm not getting help or support. Luckily I had backup completed before … (funda kabanzi)

I had a huge problem with M Outlook. In addition it has locked me out of my Office 365 package and I'm not getting help or support. Luckily I had backup completed before the problem. I changed to Thunderbird (using pop3), which I find very good. The back up is approx 8 GB but with many duplicates which I need to clean up. When I click import it seems to limit the file size to 2 GB. How can I import this backup file into Thunderbird to enable me to access the emails, clean up the many many duplicates and reduce the size? I await help, Thanks in advance

Unable to create existing account

I have connected my wifes outlook acc. and my Gmail acc. without issue, one on each of the user profiles, but with the 3rd my Outlook acc, I keep getting the "Unable to l… (funda kabanzi)

I have connected my wifes outlook acc. and my Gmail acc. without issue, one on each of the user profiles, but with the 3rd my Outlook acc, I keep getting the "Unable to log in at server..." error. The Name/email/password are all correct. I have tried connecting my 3rd email account (+New/Existing Mail Account) as the 2nd account on different profiles but I get the same error trying to connect my Outlook acc.. I have verified that Thunderbird is configured to accept cookies. Is there some issue with having 2 outlook accounts linked to the same instance of Thunderbird?? (I hope not!! - that would be a complete deal-breaker!) Is there anything else I can try? Many thanks

Firefox Version 93 for Mac OS

we are using Mozilla Firefox ESR in our enterprise environment.

Is there a documentation which URL's Firefox uses when (Mozilla Maintenance Service) when it tries to update his version ?

We have tried with following URL's on our Firewall:

aus.mozilla.org aus2.mozilla.org aus3.mozilla.org aus4.mozilla.org aus5.mozilla.org download.cdn.mozilla.net archive.mozilla.org ftp.mozilla.org

It is finding the new version, but when trying to download the update it fails.

Hi there. I'm a non-developer but I've been using Thunderbird Beta for a while. I'm not enjoying the current updates (no drag and drop function to move messages between folders!) and would like revert to regular Thunderbird (currently 102.10). I use Backup Thunderbird but I don't think it will load into an older install of Thunderbird. Advice for a safe way to migrate to regular Thunderbird without losing data? Thank you!

Can't set up my exisiing tiscali email on TB

I tried to set up TB email using autocomplete, to load up my existing tiscali email account, but this would not work. So I got the latest IMAP setting from the Talktalk … (funda kabanzi)

I tried to set up TB email using autocomplete, to load up my existing tiscali email account, but this would not work. So I got the latest IMAP setting from the Talktalk website (Talktalk bought out Tiscali years ago) and entered those manually. I keep getting a message from TB saying that the "incoming server already exists" but the emails just don't load. Also there seems to be an issue with my password, The password works for accessing my tiscali / talktalk webmail but not for setting up this account.

Talktalk are about to switch over their email settings, so the old tiscali settings that i currently access my email with go obsolete from 30/9/22, and yet the new talktalk settings given on Talktalk's website don't seem to work either

I am using a HP pc, running Windows 10.

Any suggestions, please? I wan't to back up my email. I've already contacted Talktalk because their new settings aren't working for me. They are looking into it and had advised me to back up my email. The first stage in this is getting it up and working on TB, then, I hope copying it to a hard drive. At present struggling to set up on TB, never mind the backing up! Please advise what to do.

I want to talk with a Thunderbird agent for help. I'm not sure if this is the right way to communicate. Thank you for responding. I finally did get the help I needed when I returned home from travelling. A local business uses Thunderbird on a Mac like me. "Ionos", which hosts my website and web mail that goes to Thunderbird helped me on line to put in changes they require but that did not work for me. And I lost all my email except for the last week. Also mail wasn't coming into Thunderbird. It turns out my Avast had something to do with the muck up. It took 2 hrs. to solve the problem. My husband Uri Cogan passed on last Nov. He set me up with Thunderbird and took care of everything related to my computer. He was a volunteer helping here. Without him I am slowly learning what I can. I am finding out that most people don't really know anything outside their lane and any friend I asked was as clued out as I am.

Firefox 116.0.2 is not remembering my last save destination / folder

Since last few days, whenever i want to save a file from Gmail, it is taking me to that one folder (destination) which i had used few days ago, probably before the latest… (funda kabanzi)

Since last few days, whenever i want to save a file from Gmail, it is taking me to that one folder (destination) which i had used few days ago, probably before the latest update.

I navigate and go to the folder i want to save the file in and then finish the download.

But unlike before, the next document which i am trying to download, opens the download box to save in the old folder (not even the default "downloads" folder) instead of the folder in which i have saved the file moments ago.

I have checked the settings and everything is okay there.

This has severely impacted my working and is causing immense inconvenience.

Is this a bug? Do i need to reset my firefox? Please help!

We have recently enabled background updates in our organization, however I noticed that a requirement for this to work is that Firefox needs to be run with the default profile at least once after the feature is enabled. The issue we have is that not all users are actively using Firefox and therefore they are not being updated. I realize the security flaws won't be exposed if it's not in use, but management doesn't like seeing out of date browsers. Is there a way to force auto updates on all device where Firefox isn't not being used. Background updating is working for the majority of those that do use Firefox.

Also, we do have a couple of users reporting a credential prompt when updating from 119 to 119.0.1. These same users had no issues updating from 118 to 119. I have not figured out why this is happening just yet and why only for a handful of users so far. Would anyone have an idea why that is happening?
