Have spent HRS searching your site and others for help!!! Trying to import contacts from WIndows Live Mail. All instructions I've tried to follow are WRONG INFO!!! It's disappointing that TB can't import contacts DIRECTLY from WLM's contact.edb file, but I've gone into WLM and exported the contacts into VCF form as recommended by TB. However, the directions then say to go to Thunderbird Address Book and go to Tools > MoreFunctionsForAddressBook > Actions for Contacts > Import vCard / VCF. NO SUCH OPTION EXISTS!!!! I've downloaded the latest version of TB, and under tools there is ONLY Address Book, IMPORT, EXPORT and OPTIONS. I've gone to import, and walked thru the steps, choosing to import VCF, then chose the folder location, but it opens the location folder showing ALL INDIVIDUAL CONTACTS, and there is NO WAY TO CHOOSE ALL, I can only click on ONE AT A TIME!!! ???? However, even when doing that, it places that contact in the address book list AS A NEW LIST/ADDRESS BOOK!!! There is NO WAY to force that vcf file to into the default existing "ADDRESS BOOK" there, I have gone in circles a hundred times, trying different things, but same result everytime. Then everytime I search for help on this issue, I come across different directions. SOME places say TB cannot directly import MESSAGES from WLM either, and those must be exported (DUMB in the case of a computer that is unable to boot and/or open WLM). Other places say TB CAN INDEED import messages directly from WLM's storage folders!!! Some places said press CTRL-A to select all vcf files in the export folder - NOPE!!! Still doesn't work. HOW DO I IMPORT CONTACTS???????

I followed the instructions to go to the menu button, troubleshooting, open folder up 3 levels, copy the Thundberbird folder. Copied it to an external hard drive. Then following the instructions to Paste into the same folder. I got my Sent files, but not my Inbox (old emails). I found the Inbox file, 2.2 GB, under the profiles. I cannot get those old emails into my new inbox. What did I do wrong.

As above. FF installed the update despite the checked option to NOT install automatically. NO "old firefox" folder was created-anywhere. No other profile is present that has the old data. My adult daughter's grad school laptop. Years of bookmarks, logins and I do not know what all ARE GONE!! I allowed FF to download but NOT INSTALL-since it was not my machine and I wanted to avert any disaster (I, in fact, looked at the options first, to make sure) NOW WHAT?? Is that is a bug?? Why was there no "old FF" created? Why did it install regardless of instructions to the contrary. Is there some other place to look? She does not seem to have any automatic backups for FF profiles.

4/22/16: Originally, I had issues with incoming email landing in first sub-folder under Inbox. Could not get default to change. Uninstalled and re-installed software three times, restarting machine each time between uninstall and reinstall. Windows 7 on Intel PC new 2012.

Now Thunderbird V45 Crashes immediately upon opening software. Brings up crash report immediately, but no time for incoming e-mail. Won't even allow new test version of 46 to be used. Crashes immediately too.

I love Thunderbird and Firefox products! I haven't had these issues before and I'm just sad I can't get this fixed on my own.

Any advise - suggestions? I was thinking about going back to a previous version, but can't find one that will allow me to download it...

I got a very official looking red screen with the Firefox logo titled "Urgent Firefox update". It had the normal looking opening file box asking me if I wanted to save the file: firefox-patch.exe, a binary file from https://ahghointernetno.net . I closed the window and started researching if this was real. I did make a print screen copy to WordPad but was unable to upload it here do to unsupported file type.

Just upgraded to 55.0. No bookmarks at all, Xmarks won't or can't sync. Browser is verrrryy slow to load pages. Worst Firefox ever methinks. DON'T UPGRADE, 55.0 is not ready for release

I use Windows XP. I've set a location on Mozilla Firefox for downloading each file, but every time I try to download something, it asks me where I want to save it. I don't want to tell Firefox every time where I want to save a file. Thanks for your help. Love your browser.

my thunderbird is not connecting to my googlemmil account even though it works properly on the apple mail app and on email web page. i can confirm that it works properly on another googlemail account and i have checked that the server settings are the same except for the user name and password.

Where can I download Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR 52) for Windows in order to continue using the Session Manager extension? It's extremely important and vital that I am able to restore my historical sessions and also save multiple sessions going forward.

When I try to download it, I can see it will be 60 version instead.

Unfortunately I mistakenly updated my ESR 52 version today without realizing I'd lose that extension. This is very frustrating, so to alleviate the issue, I'd just like to have the older version and stick with it. Thank you.

I'm currently running a beta Thunderbird. I have to reboot each time I want to get my mail. It also asks for my password fairly often. And when it won't load my email I also can't read some of my emails. I would like to uninstall and then reinstall thunderbird and Lightning but dont want to lose my email and calendar entries I am running Thunderbird Version 60.0beta, first offered to channel users on March 26, 2018

I hope that you can help me. I work for a company with 900+ Windows Clients and several Terminal Server users. At the moment I deployed Firefox ESR 68.4.2 32-Bit. Yes 32-Bit, my mistake. Anyway, I want to update to version ESR 68.5.0. At the same time, I want to jump onto the 64-Bit version. This article mentioned no problem at all; install 64-Bit and afterwards uninstall the 32-Bit version of Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switch-32-bit-64-bit

I did this step for step but I can't see the bookmarks on the 64-Bit version. If I uninstall and reinstall the 32-Bit Version the bookmarks are back. I need help, please. The users are going to kill me, if I "delete" their bookmarks.

I'm getting a new (Windows 8.1) computer. I want to be able to use Firefox and Thunderbird just as I left them on the old (Windows 7) computer. Is this the right way to do it:

1. Backup both (to a removable disk) on the old computer with Mozbackup. 2. Download and install both on the new computer. Download and install Mozbackup of the new computer. 3. Restore from the removable disk using Mozbackup on the new computer.

Is this the right idea?

I also have a new profile & it's fine normal size. Just doesn't have my old settings. So I don't want to use the old profile & run as compatible since I'd rather start new with no compatibility issues.

Instead I'd like to move the tags, filters, menu-icon selections, addon list, to the new profile. How?

(BTW 4k screens are the new HD. Some older programs run on them but show up very tiny. Windows10 provides compatilbity tools but it's not working on my old profile. So I HAVE to bring setting over one by one to a new profile that is the right size.)

if it were merely not like a simple "feature" i could leave the new version around - this isn't simply that my favorite extension or add-on isn't working. i used to save in Each Bookmark Description Notes - Notes that are NOW GONE. WHERE ARE THEY?!? i have literally MANY HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of Notes if you count what is in each bookmark with literally Decades of content in it which is the very Reason i use your browser over all the others - Notes that i am now utterly unable to see - ANY OF THEM. HOW DO I GET THEM BACK?!?

I have installed Thunderbird 52.9.1. The good news is that Thunderbird seems to have automatically imported the account settings for my 4 existing email accounts. I dodn't know if it got them from my WLM user data or from an export I did of my WLM accounts some time ago in case something went wrong.

However, I have not been able to import my emails. Elsewhere on this forum I have read about a Thunderbird add-on named ImportExport tools, but when I followed the link to https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ I tried to download it and got a message that it appears to be corrupted. Since this appears to be the only way to import my WLM emails, I am stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
