you know that now Chrome users is more than Firefox. Does Mozilla scrutiny to know why users more migrate to chrome from IE and even from Firefox? it is better to launch a poll in mozilla's website and get information about reasons of choosing browser. i think that the most reason is faster running and faster browsing.

For computer professionals, it is widely known Windows XP is still maintained by Microsoft (despite the MS propaganga that it is unsupported). Only a minor registry change enables this extended support (eg still receiving MS antivirus updates). Firefox's Windows support policy thus needs to be synced to this factually corrected OS life-cycle. A Firefox for Windows XP support termination date not earlier than June 2019 should be targetted.

I used "Show package contents" to open Firefox.app, and I see a Firefox icon named "updated". Can I just delete this, or will it also remove Firefox entirely? If so, can I get my old version of Firefox back? Until I can figure out how to not install this update, I won't restart Firefox. Thanks!

Hi!

Firefox on my Windows 7 pc keeps on reverting to version 29 over and over and over again...

I update it and after a while when I restart it I end up with version 29...

I tried to remove everything by first uninstalling it and then deleting the content of a few appdata directories but nothing seems to work...

This really feels like groundhog day...

I guess some sort of update file for 0.29 stayed stuck somewhere and it tries to apply it over and over again but I can't seem to find where it is...

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Nick

Running Win7Pro x64 on a Dell laptop. Had FF 55.0.3 x64, then updated to Quantum. Quantum is completely unsatisfactory: 4 instantiations of FF on open, get a new instantiation for every tab opened--and in my work I often have as many as 30 tabs open; all of my add-ons are gone, and searching for them or their replacements only produces a blank page. How to I roll back to FF 55.0.3 x64, which was entirely satisfactory? Thanks Eric Hines

ave TB 52.5.2 32 bit. Win 7. Folders a mess. Junkmail, deleted items, and one folder labeled "Error". Just spent 4 hours tried every single solution there. Most referenced place that do not exist (Server settings eg.). My ISP swears pop-server has not existed in over 6 mpnths (but they do lie alot since bought out TWC) None worked. Have un-installed and re-sinstalled twice. set up all 3 emails again. Nothing.

At a loss.

Answer: You can't. There are no FTP clients available for your new "updated" version. And no matter what you do. It never stops trying to update. Do you even care at all about your users Mozilla? You preach net neutrality and that we should have a right to choose and then you shove this down our throats. Well, if I update, then I can't work on your browser. You need to, as a company, take a chill pill and stop forcing downloads and updates. We have enough of that from Microsoft. Don't be assholes. I tried uploading images to prove what's going on but of course your website can't upload them.

I just updated to Firefox version 64 and noticed that you can no longer turn off update checks.

The only available options are "Automatically install updates" and "Check for updates but let you choose to install them".

I administer a public access computer lab and don't want "A new version is available!" popups to appear while our patrons are using our computers.

Is there a way to turn off update checking in this version of Firefox? Perhaps in about:config?

i've already tried all of the fixes stated here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files and i've tried logging out my mozilla account and downloading, i've tried starting firefox in safe mode without any add-ons, i've tried pretty much everything i can think of. no matter what the download fails and a 0kb file is created instead. when i try to download a webpage i get a 0kb html file and a folder containing all the contents of the html file, also i can download images perfectly fine even though it says they fail. i've tried downloading multiple types of files and it's not just webpages, .zip files fail, .exe files fail, everything that isn't a photo fails. the only other thing i can think of is .pdf files do a similar thing to html files, where a 0kb .pdf is created and a .pdf.part file is created the size of the actual pdf. also i've tried downloading using other browsers (excluding chrome, because it crashes my pc on startup) and they've worked perfectly fine, firefox and firefox nightly are the only programs having this issue.

So i noticed that Firefox upgraded me to Quantum. I had an open mind but upon a quick perusal i realized it was simply unacceptable. Alot of the major add ons that made Firefox what it was were not available. As far as I was concerned I wasnt using Firefox but some foreign browser. The main issue for me was particularly the session manager. Im a browser hoarder and like to keep track of articles and sites and go back to them at later dates.. I was in horror that my session were all gone so I attempted to download to ESR 52 that was no use either as it doesnt support session manager. I downloaded the Firefox 56 and made a new profile. I copied everthing from old profile to new but kept two separate profiles. The session were all there but the history didnt transfer for some reason. So i deleted the new profile all together and am back to old profile but once again history isnt there. What am i doing wrong? What happened here?

I am starting to hate Firefox for this. I am not a tech expert and all that api crap means nothing to me. If you are gonna upgrade you cant change my entire life. Not seeing my sessions and history is just short of a hard drive being wiped clean. Its like they are selling prime rib to a vegan. I just need the Firefox i know and love. Make it faster make it cleaner but dont change it in its entirety please.

Anyone who can help with the question i would really appreciate it...

In the admin account and all user accoutns, I had Firefox > Options > Advanced > NO UPDATES and turned OFF "Use a background service to install updates."

I created a new account on this computer. The VERY FIRST THING I did was go to Firefox > Options > Advanced > NO UPDATES and turned OFF "Use a background service to install updates."

Guess what. It updated. It updated for all accounts.

I've easily lost four work days of time in the first 8 months of 2019 because of FIrefox updates. I need a way to stop updates. ALL updates. FOREVER. ALL UPDATES UNCONDITIONALLY BLOCKED. No leakage. I do not want them with a goat. I do not want them on a boat. I do not want them here or there. I do not want them anywhere. Is there any remaining ambiguity?

The ways described above don't cut it. So let's think unconventionally. Is there a file I can set the protections on, so Firefox's update balks and gives up? Can I create a file that has a name that Firefox update expects, and give that file some content or property so that Firefox update fails?

Can anyone point me to the firefox version 28 exe file fore windows?

I can find this link " https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ " but it lists a number for version 28s (28.0, .0b1/2/3.../9) and the sub-directories there are a mess of stuff that I have no idea where to go and what to get.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I updated to 29 and the GUI change is too much for me, so I installed a really old version of ff and am looking to update back to 28 until I feel like I want to adjust to 29.
