Installed FF on my wife's work computer, in our gradeschool library. The network that she is connected to allows FF to be updated, but blocks extension updates. How can i download extensions as files, to a stick at home, to update her computer? Extensions used are AdBlock+, TabMix+, NoScript, ForecastFox, checkCompatability, and (since FF29) Classic Theme Restorer. Both machines running Win7; FF28 at home, FF29 in the library.

hello kthompsn, you can right-click the + add to firefox button button on & select "save target as...".
then you will end up with a .xpi file that you can put on a memory stick and install on the target pc by dragging the file into an open firefox window.

BTW, extension updates consist of the new version of the extension being installed. There are no separate "update" files as with the Firefox ".mar" files for updating Firefox.

Okay -- am on page When i right-click the [+ add to firefox] button, the popup menu refers to 'link'; get no "save target as..." option. Hang on -- just used the "Save Link with DownThemAll!" option, got a 935K file, "adblock_plus-2.5.1-sm+tb+an+fx.xpi". This looks hopeful. Get the same output with the "Save Link As...". Okay, think that does it. @Philipp: Thank you! @edmeister: yeah, had kinda figured that out. That's generally the quickest way.
