im not sure i can live with this. i need my original firefox back. this version is no good. how do i get the previous theme with my orange firefox button and grey top ?

im am positive that i did not say to update. it just did it on its own. now its gay blue. whats worse is there is a gradient into the gay blue. horrible and i need help to get rid of it.

it wouldve made more sense to put the icons on the left. and leave the search on the right where it belongs.

if i redownload 28, how do i stop it from updating again?

Thank you, when/if I get my happy self back again I'll give it a shot. But one thought occurs now because i have been trying to find it for the past half hour, where is my VIEW button? These questions continue to occur - all I know is I don't like the new Firefox because issues keep occuring I don't recognize all at once. I don't have the toolbar that has VIEW, TOOLS etc.

PLUS I don't like just icons on the toolbar because I don't know what most of them are so I have to take a shot in the dark and try them and if its not the one I wanted I have to undo what i did and try again. Firefox used to have to view just icons or also text.

Hi kcsummer111, you can display the classic menu bar using any of the following methods:

  • right-click a blank area of the tab bar
  • right-click the "+" button on the tab bar
  • "3-bar" menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars

To get the old style of buttons with an icon + text, I think you need to use an add-on. Classic Theme Restorer probably is the most popular. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

"... where is my VIEW button?"

Hit the Alt key to show the Menu Bar, which has the View menu. And when the Menu Bar is open, you can do View > Toolbars and select the Menu Bar item to have the Menu Bar be visible all the time.

"... I don't like just icons on the toolbar because I don't know what most of them are ..."

If you hover the cursor over a Toolbar icon, a tooltip should appear that tells you what that icon is used for. Such as, Display the progress of ongoing downloads if the cursor is over the Down Arrow icon on the Navigation Toolbar. And the 3-Bar menu button has a tooltip for Open menu.

@jscher ---Thanks, at least I have the VIEW, ETC back, however I have the add on toolbar you suggest and it doesn't have any effect on icon/text

BACK AGAIN, I stand corrected, the add-on does include text and icon THANK YOU VERY MUCH

@ edmeister yes, the hover thing is an option - remembering keyboard strokes like ALT plus something - My head is already filled with too much stuff so that unless its something I use on a regular basis I can't remember it.

but now I have FOR HOWEVER LONG IT LASTS my icons and text back PRAISE BE.

Thanks for your suggestions and time.
