Did Mozilla just now OK www.internetspeedassistant.com to flash on my screen a suggestion that I should install them due to a flaw in my internet connection?
While working on a WordPerfect document I received what looked like a pop-up saying "There May Be A Problem With Your Internet Connection." I clicked on the "OK" provided and suddenly www.internetspeedassistant.com was in my URL and on the screen were instructions on how to download this.
Should I say yes?

Say no. Popup ads are almost always for something you don't want.
Then check whether any recently installed software could be to blame. If you open the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, and click the "Installed on" column heading, you can bring the most recent additions to the top.

Last year, many users reported advertising tabs opening randomly, sometimes even when Firefox was closed. It turned out that a program had created scheduled tasks to open those pages at certain times of day.
You can check the Windows Task Scheduler:
- Windows Vista/7: Start button > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler
- Windows XP: Start button > [All] Programs > Accessories> System Tools > Scheduled Tasks

And you may wan to do some supplemental cleaning using the tools listed in this article: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.
