How do I close an e=mail account

I want to close an e-mail account. How?

Deleting an email Account?

Go to Tools->Account Settings.

Select the account you want to delete. At the bottom of the left-hand side of the screen (i.e., the side where the accounts are listed), there's an "Account Actions" drop-down menu. Select "Remove Account".

I cannot remove or delete an e-mail account. there is not an option under the dropdown box on the left in account setting. Thunderbird 24.5.0
