My master password won't work & I want to remove it.
I entered a master password but it will not recognize it.

You can reset the master password. Note, this will erase all passwords Thunderbird has remembered.

My master password does NOT work so I am unable to get anywhere. Avery site it sends me to asks for the password.
You need to reset the master password as described in the article, if you can't remember it. Note, the master password is used to encrypt the account passwords Thunderbird has remembered.
I'm sorry to be a problem, but I have done all of that. When I checked what passwords are stored there were none listed. I unchecked the use master password it still asked for the password in the next step. I wish I could find a phone no. for Thunderbird! Thanks.
Really all you need to do is to click the link and follow the instructions. Can't be that hard.
You can delete the signons.sqlite and key3.db to reset the Master Password if the chrome URI isn't working.
