My device is running version 1.3.0.0-prerelease that was compiled from source (by someone else). Now ZTE has finally released a version 1.1 'update' that I would like to install. However, when I attempt to install the update I receive a signature verification failure error message. How do I install the update provided by ZTE?

Hi jezra,

Enabling 'Remote debugging', as you say, it is necessary, but the device has to have 'fastboot' enabled, which is something different.

If your ZTE Open does not have 'fastboot' enabled you will not be able to flash it.

Hi all,

I have a follow up for my ZTE open for applying the ZTE update. ZTE is providing instructions on how to apply the update by adding the update.zip file to the sd card's root directory from a computer after backing up the user information on the card. Hold the power button and select Firefox Recovery mode. Applying the update from an external card will take a few minutes.

For those who are flashing another version using flashboot this update will not work and will have to add the ZTE build to their phone.

In order to back up the l file directories are:

Hi,

I have similar problem to you. I bought a device from UK ebay. I installed the version 1.1 from ZTE and it works. Then I would like to build and flash the device by myself. But it does not seems to works. In particular I'm able to flash only gaia and gecko. So I have for some days v1.3 but only gaia and gecko. After I found this guide:

1. Download the files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bmf3r18sa43nza4/1recovery.img https://www.dropbox.com/s/ugogy59i2kjt4ha/update-signed.zip

2. adb push 1recovery.img / sdcard / rec.img adb shell flash_image recovery / sdcard / rec.img

then copy to the memory card: update-signed.zip Power + volume up / from menu – install the update. Enjoy. Downgrade ready.

Now you can install 1.3.

This blocked my phone. Now I cannot install any ZTE rom since that the device says failed to very whole-image signature. How can I do?

Thank you
