I want my folders in alphabetical order, not the websites inside them.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

1 Open the Bookmarks Sidebar = {Ctrl + B}

   2 Right-click the Bookmarks Menu folder and select Sort by Name

That should sort bookmarks folders by name, with the 'loose' bookmarks sorted by name after the folders. Bookmarks and folders inside the main folders won't be sorted. NOW click on the folders in your unsorted folder and move them up to the area below the last sorted folder. Repeat until there are no more folders in your unsorted folder. repeat step 1& 2.

If you are talking about Firefox folders, go to the folder in question. then go up one level to its parent. From the parent, right click the folder in question and select; Sort By Name. This is the only sort Firefox has. You could also do a manual sort. Go to the folder, locate a file you want to move. mouse on top of it and HOLD DOWN THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. You can then move that file to where you want it and release it.

Thanks. When I try the first method the folder doesn't move. On the second it goes into the next folder as a sub-folder. How do I avoid that please?

The folder is not suppose to move. The instruction I gave you was for sorting the folder entries / listings. The sort command works on the folder that you right click on.

Try to hold down the Shift key when you want to move (drag) folders with the mouse.

Thanks but sadly that didn't work. I place the folder in the right place on top of the one I want after it and simply becomes a sub-folder. If I put it at the main heading it goes back to the end.
