Every time I log onto a web site I get a message that it is going through "intex.nav-links.com". Is this something usually generated by Firefox or am I being redirected to a malicious site?

Hello goldiingd, it is not from firefox, check if you have any toolbars not installed from you (and in add/remove programs also) and seek if the problem is malware related in your computer.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Scan with all programs, each one detect different malware.

Hello goldiingd,

I've posted a video on YouTube that shows how to remove the Nav-Links:

http://youtu.be/LwDn4p0dUJ4

These are the steps I go though in the video to remove the Nav-Links:

  1. Find a web page where the Nav-Links are shown.
  2. Disable all web browser extensions and verify that the Nav-Links no longer appear.
  3. Enable the extensions one by one and restart the browser, until you find which extension that contains the Nav-Links. In my case the extension was called weDownload Manager.
  4. Go to the Add/Remove programs dialog, and uninstall the software.
  5. Verify that the Nav-Links are gone.

Did that help you find and remove the extension that opened the Nav-Links?
