what is searchgol and why did it appear when I updated mozilla???
Mozilla requested us to do the latest update. We did and the search engine is now searchgol. How do we get Mozilla search engine back!!!

Did you get the latest version from Mozilla? That is where you should get Mozilla applications, not from a third party. As for changing the search engine, you can do that in the searchbar. Just pick another one.
Im assuming it came from Mozilla it all seemed legit just the search engine changed once the new version downloaded

After you add the addon, after hitting the green button.
Searchgol is a browser hijacker and it has nothing to do with Firefox. You probably got it after installing freeware. Think of apps you've installed, searchgol most likely came with them.
To remove Searchgol, follow this removal guide:
