I set google up to view multiple accounts and it does not work. How do I get arid of this feature. I know it can be done as I did not do this on my other machine which works great. I tried everthing that I can find on the net but nothing seems to work?

Can I save my bookmarks to a file Unistall Firefox and then reinstall will the start it fresh or will this feature be carried over.

Is the problem that you have multiple saved logins? You can try clearing them here:

Firefox menu > Preferences > Security > "Saved Passwords"

If that doesn't help, is it possible there is an add-on involved?

Yes it seems that I have quite a few of google passwords. Is it best to delete all the them? Or do you know if I just delete the one that google has deemed the default account would that work?

I don't know how Firefox chooses which login to use, but it must be choosing precisely the one you want to avoid using. If it isn't obvious to you, either, I'd clear them all.

I deleted the google accounts that were set at default and this worked for the day. The next day when I opened firefox the default account was back. I will go in once more and delete them all and see if that works.

I did clear them all and now the problem only shows up once I log into the account google choose as the default. I cannnot find any add on to the browser? Any other suggestions?

I'm not personally familiar with joining different Google accounts -- I try to keep them as separate as possible. To see whether it's a Firefox thing or a Google thing, could you try the following test: accessing Google in a new Firefox profile.

Create a new Firefox profile

It will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash), but no themes, extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.

For Mac, please see the following article on how to use the Profile Manager to create a new profile: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles.

Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.

When creating a new profile, I recommend using the default location suggested, and to avoid data loss, not re-using any existing folder. Before deleting unneeded profiles, I suggest making a backup first in case something were to go wrong.

Are your accounts already joined when you first log in from a new profile?

I reset firefox back to the original and it seems to have solved the problems. I did have to reinstall all the add-ons once I did this but all my bookmarks transferred over. This also seem to speed up firefox.
