I've already posted in another thread about this but a mod told me to open a new one so here goes. As I said in that thread absolutely nothing is working with regards to flash at the moment. A reset doesn't fix this problem. I can't disable hardware acceleration in flash because I can't even get the plugin to work in order to have that option display. I've checked if my addons had anything to do with it -- nope.

I'm using FF24 with Flash version 11.8.800.94. Flash works fine in both IE & in Chrome. Where I go from here I'm not sure...

EDIT: I was finally able to disable hardware acceleration in flash but it didn't help.

If you haven't already, go ahead and disable the Flash Player plugin's protected mode. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

I had to do that after a Windows update, as described here: Flash hangs Firefox (eventually get script continue/stop dialog).

Another failed attempt on this end *sighs

Hi DropoutBear, what do you mean by another failed attempt? Were you able to create or edit the mms.cfg file in this folder:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

Did you try to disable protected mode in the Flash plugin as well?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

@jscher2000 I meant another failed attempt to fix. Thanks for the suggestion it just didn't work.

@cor-el Tried that too & it didn't work.

So what I did was go back & do a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate for the 4th time (yeah, it's bothering me that much) but this time I decided to leave the drivers alone because I was having unrelated audio issues as well. So far so good even after the updates. Hopefully it stays this way & I can finally browse easily.

Thanks for the help...
