I got a request to update Firefox to FireFox-22. The version I have now (FF21) is starting to cause me many problems, namely it is getting slow and not able to correctly show the images in places like facebook. I updated my java, but I am trying to update my system to 64-bit; for which this system was created. I know that 32 bit runs good on a 64, I just would love to put a stop to all the updating. I just installed firefox 21 and now there is a new version. It is so frustrating that I am going to get a MAC, it is a hassle to keep updating things when your an Artist and have deadlines to meet. When are you going to release a 64-bit version or do I have to use Internet explorer until then? I really don't want to use the 32-bit version of FF22 when I know there is going to be a new release within 6 months.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Hi PeachesNcream, a new version of Firefox is released every six weeks. This is true on all platforms that Firefox supports. You may enjoy the Mac better than Windows, but it won't change the update schedule for Firefox.

There isn't a specific timeline for issuing a 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows. It might never happen...

Hello PeachesNcream, confirm jscher2000's reply, the only firefox 64-bit is for testing purposes and only for linux.

thank you

EDIT: Please read the next reply, James reply, because 64-bit linux for the latest stable 22.0 version exist. James correctly correct me.

ideato, that response was true before the Firefox 4.0 release.

Both Linux and Mac OSX has had 64-bit Firefox releases ever since 4.0.

The Mac OSX is a combined 32/64-bit download and Mozilla does not make the 64-bit Linux release of Firefox as visible as they do with 32-bit Linux releases of Firefox.

64-bit Linux builds of Firefox 4.0 and 22.0 for example.
Firefox 4.0
Firefox 22.0

It is the Win64 builds on Nightly channel that are more for to catch breakages/regressions at moment as a while back they were changed from Tier2 to Tier3. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Supported_build_configurations

Note that on Windows a lot of problems with slow response in Firefox can be caused by security software that isn't configured properly.

I have just updated my Firefox from v.21.0 to v.22 I have just updated 3 weeks ago. I am getting very frustrated in having to update this often from a version that for me worked great, only to reset the settings on certain things. With this update, I cannot view images in a search and sometimes on webpages (which sometimes only loads some of the images).

It is disappointing to know that there is not going to be a 64-bit version, but how do you know what bugs are due to a windows setting (64-bit) or a Firefox bug (32-bit)?

Core-el, What security software could be causing FF to be slow? I have Avast installed on my computer.
