Any resolution to this problem? By the way, I also tried Safe Mode just like Kaisei without any success. Even the latest flash and firefox updates have not solved the issue.

Error playing Yahoo videos Yahoo Video seriously struggles to load and give error everytime I try to play. I have latest version of Adobe flash player installed and it works well for most of the other sites. So its a problem only related to Yahoo Videos site. Kindly do something on this. Thank you.

I am running Win 7 (64-bit) I have the same problem I have tried all the suggested remedies listed here without success. If 31 of us admit to having the problem.. I suspect the true number is thousands X 31. We just took the time to report it, most move on. I started noticing the problem after the last Firefox update. I have tried deleting and reinstalling Firefox. It appears that something was changed in the the last update causing a bug affecting the way the flash plays on yahoo pages... Works in IE not Firefox... have intermittent problems with Chrome. Hope someone figures it out... I loath IE. Attached is what one sees when clicking on a video..It just never loads...

I tried installing Firefox 13.0.1 (find it on filehippo) and Yahoo! videos work with that version of Firefox! Now if Mozilla can somehow use this information to get Yahoo! videos to work with Firefox 21.0. I want to keep version 21.0 because I am afraid that v13.0.1 may contain bugs or vulnerabilities.

Unfortunately v22 of firefox does not fix the problem either and yahoo videos still do not work. are they even paying attention to the complaints? lol...it's kind of ridiculous and frustrating now since firefox has been my default browser for so long. i guess it's time to switch...

Same issue. Most videos work, but No videos from Yahoo and a few other sites. Running latest version of Firefox with latest version of Flash on a fully patched Windows 8 PC. Tried all suggestions. No Luck. BTW. Same URL plays video just fine on IE and Chrome. I have had Firefox as my default browser for years. Sadly, this is no longer the case.  :(

I'm using Windows 8, 64-bit, Firefox 22, and I am having this problem too. I cannot play any videos on Yahoo...get the rolling circle...and the video never plays. PLEASE, FIREFOX! RELEASE A SOLUTION FOR THIS.

Try to uninstall and reinstall Flash.

Note that this will remove all installed Flash players.

That has been done numerous times; both flash and firefox have been uninstalled and installed. The only way to get it to work is to downgrade firefox to v. 13.0; no other solution, neither by other users or any moderator, has worked thus far. It is clear that mozilla does not plan on fixing this issue at all seeing how the problem has persisted for over 4 months.

Hi inquirykid, are you sure that the latest version of Firefox that plays Yahoo videos on Windows 8 is Firefox 13? That is a dangerously vulnerable version and you would be better off using IE for Yahoo -- either directly, or indirectly using one of the "IE Tab" add-ons -- than accessing all websites in such an old version.

Edit: After reading 8 more threads, it appears that Firefox 19.0.2 was the last version no one had this problem in. Makes sense, considering the title of this thread...

As a Windows 7 user, it appears I can't experience this issue directly myself.

I'm using windows 7. I have yet to try 19.0 but will see. For some reason, videos don't work on chrome for me either despite it working for others.

Please get this yahoo video issue fixed.

I have been having the same issue for months now, but IE seems to play those videos just fine all the time. I have used Firefox for years, but I may switch back to IE or maybe Chrome because I use Yahoo a lot and FF is just becoming a hassle. Please fix ASAP.

New Problem:

The toggle-me-on-and-off Flash mini-screen demo on the left side does NOT play in FF 23.0.1. It is a JavaScript toggle. JavaScript appears to works fine in FF 23.0.1 on other sites.

ALL other browsers -- SlimBroswer 7, MS IE 10, Chrome -- toggle then play this Flash "mini demo" properly and as expected.

PLEASE do NOT advise us to test, do, try, adjust, download a lot of items...NONE of the usual or unusual troubleshooting steps have any effect or give any insights.

Also, the ad-blockers or pop-up blockers are not in any way in use or contributing to the problem.

Hi josephrot, I'm not sure why that page isn't working for you.

The design is simple. One element has the link to hide the demo, one has the link to show the demo, and the third is the Flash object. Clicking hide hides the first, shows the second, and hides the third. Clicking show reverses that.

Which step is failing for you? By that I mean, does your Firefox detect that it's a link (pointing finder)? Do any of the steps in the scripts work, such as hiding the Hide link and showing the Show link?

The link finger comes on, but nothing changes or happens when the toggle link is clicked on. FF does not call any JavaScript or other like error message -- such as the "Script error!" call that we sometimes see on other sites pages.

The "hide demo / show demo" text toggles as well, but again, nothing happens as far as anything video popping on and off as it does in the other browsers I tested the page with.

Indeed, this sort of JavaScript functionality really is so simple that it almost surely "can't cannot work" as it were.

Yet, FF 23.0.1 can not fathom to do it.

Again, just to be sure, I de-installed JavaScript functionality, then re-installed it and restarted FF, and even ditto with the latest Flash, on the off chance doing both would cure.

Nothing works.

Hi Joe, the script connected to the Hide Demo link does 3 things: (1) hide that link, (2) show the Show Demo link, (3) hide the Flash player. This is done by changing a style rule for each element.

So based on your experience of the link text changing, JavaScript is running on your Firefox and the first two style changes are working, but the third one is failing for some reason, or is overridden.

If you open the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+j), click the Clear button to dump past errors, and click the link, does Firefox report a scripting error? (Most script errors in Firefox are recorded silently in this console and/or the Web Console; you generally do not get a dialog.)

Via the Error Console, after flush, toggling the page link produces, once for each toggle:

Hi Joe, thank you for checking that.

I think it's probably a coincidence that you are getting a Tab Mix Plus error when clicking the link; you might find that you get that for lots of different links and it has nothing to do with this one in particular. It might help to update TMP, just in case it is an old bug (I don't know what version you have, but when I look at that .js file, Line 216 doesn't seem near any uses of targetPref). You can check for extension updates using the "gear" button on the Add-ons page.

I need to pause on troubleshooting that page for now. Something is preventing the Flash from being hidden, but I haven't thought of an easy way to figure out what it might be.

I am hearing reports from Mozilla programmers, that FF 22, FF 23.0 and FF 23.0.1 have problems with JavaScript and other frames commands.

Looks like those of us seeing Yahoo videos not playing, and a few other JavaScript's not work on a few web-sites MAY have to wait for the next Beta or Release.

This should not be, nor be such a possible long wait to be resolved.
