I forgot to mention that I have no trouble attaching files using IE10. So, no, Yahoo isn't the problem.

Hi cnc_teacher

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

I also have no trouble attaching with IE. But with IE I can't do downloads!

I uninstalled Silverlight but that didn't help. I also can't find a settings wheel in my email.

Hi JBC you do not mention which email service you are using. Both outlook and yahoo provide a settings wheel on the toolbar to the right of the page between to your profile login and home icons.

Per previous post, suggest you verify that JavaScript is installed, up-to-date and enabled in your browser of preference. Also per iamjayakumars post of 3/14/2013 clear out cookies and cache then restart browser. Chrs Bertronce

I WAS ABLE TO FIX THIS! After running through all of the help, updating Java, Mozilla, clearing Cache and running in Safe mode etc. the ONLY thing that helped me was to: CLEAR ALL HISTORY. Seriously, after clearing all of my Firefox history, restarting Firefox (which I may not have had to do), I can now send attachments for my Yahoo Mail using my Firefox Browser!

Simply Delete all of your History!

I finally solved my email/pdf attachment problem so I no longer have to use a separate browser to do that everytime.

Go to Firefox ADD-ONS in the drop down menu // then go to PLUGINS // Find the "YahooBrowser" Plugin and DISABLE IT AS FAST AS YOU CAN !!

Prepare to grin ear to ear cuz you just solved your problem!

OK... just in case you d0n't have this Yahoo Browser plugin... snif snif. you can do what I did and disable ALL plugins... it's easy and just as easily be undone.

Then with ALL plugins disabled try an attachment again. If it now works you know that you are on the right track so ENABLE half of them and try again. If still good you know that you are getting close... keep going until you "enable" the problem plugin... then then disable it permanently!

Hope it works for you. George

I was also unable to attach any type of file to my yahoo email. It did not matter if I was using Firefox, Chrome or IE. I also tried switching to a different computer.

The problem: After trying to attach a file, using the BASIC Yahoo web interface, it looked like the file was attached and I could even click the SEND button and it would say the message was sent. But when the message was received on the other end, the attachment was missing. I tried all the suggestions on this and other threads but nothing helped. I did however find a solutions to the problem.

The solution: My problem was with the BASIC version of the Yahoo web interface. When I switched to the full featured version of the web interface, the problem was solved! If you are using the basic version, somewhere in the yahoo email settings, there is an option to turn on the full featured version of the web interface. Turn this on and, if you are having the same problem as I did, your problem should be solved. Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem. Where did you find the firefox setting you went to to clear everything? thanks

I explained the method as best I could so please read it again. Start with the Firefox dropdown menu while yahoo mail is open.

Also perhaps the latest Yahoo Mail "upgrade" will fix everything for you. If you didn't get it yesterday... maybe today.

thanks for the help. I don't have firefox- do I need to download to be able to correct this issue? im not aware of what firefox even is. I just one day could no longer attach anything to my yahoo mail. I use internet explorer and windows 7. thanks

wwillis46, you don't need to install firefox. Just make sure you are using the newest, full featured version of Yahoo email and your problem should be corrected. To upgrade, just log in to your Yahoo and look around for notice that that says something about upgrading Yahoo. I think I found it somewhere near the top of the screen. Click the notice then select the full featured version when asked what version you would like to upgrade to. Hope this helps.

thanks again. I cant find a upgrade and even went to yahoo help and it says there is an option to upgrade but its not on my screen. ive tried every button. I guess im doomed. I cant find an email or phone number for yahoo either so it seems impossible!  :/

wwillis46, see this link for more info on how to switch to the full featured version. Switching between basic and full-featured Yahoo! Mail

If you are already using the full featured version, the option to switch to full featured will not be available and you have a different problem than what I had. Good luck!

The Yahoo Mail upgrade simply arrived on our office computers... you will know it when you see it.

Did you ever make it to Firefox // add-ons // plugins // where you will find a list of foxfire Mozilla plugins. I suggest that you disable any yahoo browser or other yahoo plugin and try it... can't hurt.

You can always re-enable.

I've tried to send a printscreen of the above location of plugins.

Thank you SO much. I do not have firefox so I guess I need to download that first and then follow these steps. Thanks again

When I first had the problem I solved it by switching to IE, I also used Chrome... even downloaded Opera. Any one of those will take you to Yahoo Mail where you can try again. The others worked ok. Then I went back to Firefox and tried again and found the solution that I gave you. Nothing wrong with giving Firefox (Mozilla) a try. I switched to it years ago when IE was giving me trouble.

I had the same problem in IE 10 but not Firefox; couldn't add attachments to Yahoo email. It started happening when the Silverlight installation happened 3/15 on my laptop. I de-installed Silverlight, re-installed it, cleared the IE cache, reset all IE settings, removed all IE plugins, did everything everybody else suggested, but the problem still persisted. Finally, I removed the Yahoo toolbar from IE, and the problem went away completely. I re-installed all my IE plugins, and everything still worked. The Toolbar works OK in Firefox; that's how I was able to add email attachments until I solved the problem in IE.
