Since I updated to the latest Mozilla Firefox 19 I have been having a few problems. I no longer have the Firefox box in the top left hand corner. I can open Mozilla to go online but when I want to ask question it wont recognize my password, when I try to retrieve it via email it does not arrive. When I try to register I'm told the account already exists, I can't remember how I got to this page now. Flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites, it pauses on screen but is still working under neath until I move the mouse. It is almost fine on the small screen. It appears to work ok on I E. I disabled "Use Hardware acceleration" I've updated Real player and Adobe Flash 11.3 and I'm using Win 7.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Thank you for your reply but after I removed both cookies and cache and it made no difference. Thank you for the orange Firefox menu result, great.

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
