I put a search question in Bing and get ba list of possible URLs to answer my question. When I click on a URL Google Hi-jacks my search and takes me to a Google ad page. If I click on How to buy new boots it takes me to an ad for Travel Brokers. If I copy the URL I want into the address bar and click enter it brings up a warning that the site is a virus site even if it is Mozilla. It doesn't do it on Google sites. How do I Fix the problems?

That's very strange. Could you review your extensions list and disable everything nonessential? By nonessential, I mean pretty much everything you do not use all the time. Then restart Firefox and test again.

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

I did what you suggested, there were only 2 add-ons. All add-on's and Plugins are disabled and it still does it. I have been having this problem for about1 week now. I reloaded and updated my virus software and Mozilla earlier today before I posted to the forum because that was suggested as the possible cause but it didn't help either. I am still open to suggestion , this thing is just so irritating.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Cor-el;

     Thank you for the information. I tried these items and I still have the problem. It sure is a tenacious redirect redirect problem. It just takes me to ads whether they pertain or not. Wish I was getting paid for the advertising clicks.
