Could you test the following methods:

  1. Use an older bookmark that you know worked correctly in previous versions
  2. After entering a few characters in the url bar, arrow down and navigate using a known good autocomplete entry
  3. After entering a few characters in the url bar, select the suggested autofill address

If the problem only arises with the third method, please see the following thread for further discussion of autofill issues (that started in Firefox 14):
