still wanting to get rid of the "new convenient" homepage tabs-I have spent a lot of time lately trying to get FF to setup the way I want-not successful endeavor at all-I used to like FF for being simple and direct, but I seem to have missed the ferry to newland-I just want to be able to use my machine for personal use-no office or business applications for this grey haired great aunty-I keep thinking I am on aol or ie lately and it annoys me greatly-how much trouble will it take to send me elsewhere for internet access-??? coming close now

Hi MUTTMOM3, do you mean the New Tab Page when Firefox shows your top sites to make getting where you want easier when you create a new tab ?

In the Location bar/awesome bar type about:config and press Enter. If you see "This might void your warranty!" click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.

type browser.newtab.url in the search box.

double-click on browser.newtab.url preference and change the url in your preferred home page (example www.google.com or www.yahoo.com) or another page you want

then click OK and close the about:config tab.

From now on when you open a new tab, this tab opens with the page you write above.

thank you
